I think this might be a relapse. For the past 7 days straight, new pustules keep appearing. They mature very quickly and disappear in 1-2 days, but new ones show up every day (usually 1-2 at a time).
I (F28, 127lbs/58kg) finished my 12-month course of isotretinoin in February. I even exceeded the cumulative dose (48mg/day). Right after stopping, I switched to maintenance therapy with Epiduo (adapalene + benzoyl peroxide), everything under my doctor’s supervision.
During all this time I had almost no breakouts. If anything appeared, it wasn’t pustules like now, more like mild folliculitis that went away quickly and didn’t really bother me.
My skincare routine is very simple: AM : Uriage Xemose Syndet cleanser; La Roche-Posay Effaclar Iso Biome cream; Purito Daily Go SPF( not everyday)
PM: Same cleanser, apply Epiduo on dry skin, seal it with the same cream. Sometimes I add Skin1004 Centella serum and toner.
I’m really desperate because it feels like my acne has returned after just 4 months.
Has anyone had similar pustules after finishing Accutane? Is this a real relapse or just a temporary reaction to something?
I’d really appreciate any experiences, I’m feeling pretty hopeless right now 😔
