How Would You Rework Jaune's Fighting Style?

The Immovable Shield to Pyrrha's Unstoppable Spear. That is what I see Jaune's fighting style should be, patient and stalwart, his shield moving faster than any blade ever could, blocking and pulling in an opponent to get into his range, before giving a devastating slash.

In none fancy terms, I would like to see how you would make Jaune fight in your own stories or headcanons after becoming competent.

Mine would be a tank obviously, who focuses on control, defence and never losing his footing ever again. As I said, his shield would move faster than any blade, because his aim would be protecting not just himself but his friends, family and anyone who stands behind him.

His slices and shield bashes are also on point, calculated to hit exactly the most optimal point of an opponent, kinda like a snake's ambush but the bushes is his shield this time. Also opening move or an ult would be either a shield charge that could just break through anything and can push against an entire jet coming at him full throttle, or a amplified aura slash, which is more of a aura smash, that just erases whatever is it's path.

Basically, the opposite of Pyrrha with her quick, precise and unending attacks, dodges and parries. To Jaune everything is either a defense or a set up of something greater. The ideal form of a knight, mixed in with a good bit of paranoia.

Invasive Fanfic Ideas

Me, trying to write chapter 2 of the JNPR family while a new story idea of rewriting a fic I read about Jaune getting outted by Pyrrha as a fraud, and is then made to train with Crow, but my version would start 6 months later when he returns as a scarred badass with his semblance unlocked, that's seemingly relaxed a lot and supposedly just came back as a better version of himself who holds no grudges at all against Pyrrha...but turns out thats because he is now obsessed with gaining her approval as he now fights like a suicidal juggernaut, taking hit after hit as he practically slaughters his enemies (only surviving because of his aura plus aura amp regenerations), which no one else seems to notice is a problem because all the damage he gets is superficial...well, no one except Weiss, who doesn't notice how suicidal his fighting style is at first but recognises his behaviour and the expressions he makes whenever Pyrrha is involved...that being the same expression she once wore and what her brother currently wears when it involves their father...the almost borderline maddening want to be accepted and cherished, no matter what.

After noticing that face across Jaune, she starts paying attention to how practically absorbs all the damage his team was supposed to get, which from the outside sounds like he is doing his job great, but he is actually just taking so much damage even his aura can't handle before quickly regening with his semblance...then comes the scars not just on his face, but on his body...potentially hundreds of wounds that would have been fatal to anyone else, just strewn across his body...and more constantly being added.

Sure, he tries to talk to him in private but he tries to brush her off in as polite way as he can (might not be as arrogant as how she and Whitley would do it, but still would be crazily similar), and trying to confront Pyrrha about it but the girl just not believing her (because A. She was Jaune's old crush and concurrently literally all his attention is now on Pyrrha, so she feels a bit of pride in that. And B. If he admits this is actively hurting him, than she'll have to admit her actions have done irreparable damage to the one she loves, an action she made risking the entirety of every true friend she has ever had on the line).

So thusly, the plot would slowly become Weiss going down the list of their friends trying to convince them something is wrong with Jaune while trying hard not to seem vulnerable as she usually does. With I think Blake being the one who is most receptive, and would try to be the most helpful (their situations are becoming eerily similar with whole, y'know, lying about their true identities to their friends and crossing lines for their red headed obsession) but y'know, Jaune's thing is different from Adam's influence on her, so really, getting both the entirety of Team RWBY and, Jaune's family, Team JNPR, in on this is the only way they think they could get through to him.

Also there would be a very guilty feeling Qrow, trying his best to watch over the kid while not being interrogated by either of his nieces or their friends. Mainly because he turns Ruby's friend into, well, that. Add in some sprinkle of Winter also having to manage her guilt for having encouraged Arc's "efficiency over health" behaviour (because training in Atlas feels right for this story).

Who has the superior translation?

"Run Rabbit" RWBY Animatic

I actually don't know what tag this would be, buuuuut—

Getting to the main point, for about a week now, I've been getting Run Rabbit animatics and thought that a RWBY Animatic about it would be fire.

It would be a post volume 9 Animatic where the focus is Ruby contemplating all the death her plans have caused, intentional or otherwise (like those people that got blasted from the bridge), and the suffering of Jaune. It would have a heavy string motif as Ruby become the leading figure in the war against Salem, and how it means, inevitably, a lot of deaths will be caused by her choices. Other figures of the Animatic would be Ozpin and Salem, each standing on a hill of skulls that are attached to their fingers by red and green string, that Ruby is forced to climb, and Ironwood and Leo, in which Ironwood is depicted as being strangled by his own string (or hung by it), the strings engulfing him and falling out of his orifices as if like blood (like strings bleeding out of empty eye sockets), Leo meanwhile is depicted by him desperately trying to pry his strings away from him as they tie themselves around his neck, only for Salem to cut the strings for him...and pull on them. Lastly would be Jaune, who would be the titular running rabbit as he is puppeteered by a giant Ruby to run, eventually fading into the bridge where she forces him into stabbing his blade into Penny before the bridge starts to fade, in which Jaune tries to run but can't (a knight cannot abandon his lord). In which he falls into the ever after and is shown starting to rust.

This entire animatic would be a short depiction of the pressure and guilt that Ruby feels, both what her future entails, both definities (Salem and Ozpin) and potentials (Ironwood and Leonhart), with Jaune representing her current self perceived failures of leading.

So like, I just wanted to inform ya all of that, and if you want to do it, you have my full blessing to use any ideas here!

The JNPR family by SunMerchant

The JNPR family

My first ever fanfic! Hope ya guys like the first chapter, though I don't know why but for some reason, the spacing is weird even though it was fine in the docs.

What happens when JNPR is allowed to become a true family? A classic if beacon didn't fall, second year fanfic! There's no twist, just family goodness!

Please leave reviews, both here and on site! Oh yeah, I'm dead ass poor, so if you are just gonna ask me if I want a commission, I'll have to sadly say no

Arc Family Question

Simply put, the same with how the Nikos' family is made to be a big deal in fanfiction, why are the Arcs? Not that I get that they have a legacy about being heroes, but making Mr and Mrs Arc successful hunters or fighters and making the other siblings that as well, when the point of their existence in the series is that they (to put it lightly) disagree with the whole huntsman career thing Jaune is pursuing, at most maybe the parents would be failed huntsmen or low tiers that have experienced a lot of lost. But making them into big deals and important enough to be notable to Ozpin and Team STRQ seems kinda counterproductive, no? I am almost always confused with them being like royalty or a powerful family and want to ask, why?

RWBY SWAP AU

Okay while in the bathroom and listening to the nowhere king song, I just thought of an AU where Ozma and Salem swap roles, not positions, Salem is still a forbidden queen while Ozma is still the headmaster of Beacon. In anycase, Ozma becomes like a dream lord, corrupting children early on with dreams of glory and such working under him, creating a myth about the four relics that if all brought together would create a utopia and of course inducting the main cast into such beliefs...except for Jaune. Jaune's role would be a false vessel for Ozma, because yes, the guy is now a intentional body snatcher rather than a accidental one. In anycase, things happen mostly as usual in canon, until Jaune somehow (idk haven't thought about it too much) gets too close to the truth of headmaster Ozpin and nearly gets either hypnotized or mindwiped by him...until he starts being able to see souls (entirely out of no where I know but hear me out, actually don't, all of my fanfics have Jaune unlocking that ability purely because I think it fits into his paladin vibes alot considering all the speeches those classes usually give about seeing the soul of someone) in anycase, it not only allows him to read the history of Ozma, but also see where the true successor vessel lies. In Oscar, so Jaune pretends to be mindwiped while collecting info about this Oscar, locating where he is. And getting into contact with Roman and eventually Cinder, Cinder, seeing the truth Jaune has witnessed, decides to help him escape at the Fall of Beacon.

Haven't detailed what happened at the Fall yet but after his successful escape, he goes out to find Oscar with the remainder of CMEN, that is Mercury, Emerald and Neo, to either capture the boy in a place where no matter how much Ozma tries, he can't kill himself while possessing so he'd be trapped forever or somehow stop Ozma taking over him for good. Jaune doesn't know which should be done, but each second is ticking. He also has to race against his former friends and teammates who don't understand why'd he support actual terrorist who caused Pyrrha'a death, to make sure they never get the relics. Of course it's like 5v8 and one of those 8 is a fully trained huntsmen, so training both Jaune and maybe eventually Oscar will become a must for the group, there's also the whole plot of finding Cinder again, Yang maybe idk threatening her own life to blackmail Raven to helping retrieve the relic and all that. There's the eventual betrayals of Leo and Ironwood, which would be much more sympathetic now. And so much more I can't wrap my head around rn.

Jaune Arc Training Regiment

If you were Pyrrha Nikos, how would you have trained Jaune Arc? In my opinion, I would have tried focusing on his physique more and giving some simulated experience using the polarity semblance.

With Polarity I would have constructed a training regiment that allows me to control both the weight of the weights and his armour, have him sprint and run with his armour while making it weight like 2 tons, have him lift weights that could crash through a truck. Also using the fact that I could shoot and use multiple weapons at once and omnidirectionally, I would make him go through a simulated warzone in which he would he attacked and shot at all sides by varying degrees of weaponry and armaments. Of course, all of this will have a progression system in place but the main point would be to make him be able to rely on himself with some sprinkling of advice here and there rather than direct tutelage, mainly because it would allow him to set his own rhythm and style of fighting rather than trying to copy techniques that might not be efficient for him.

Have him create his own foundation and such, and only after that would I do anything resembling direct teachings, because by then, he could properly interpret my techniques into his own style to make it efficient for him. As for why I would focus on pushing his physique so much, well, tanking is a lot less stressful when your body can handle it even without aura.

Jaune Arc Fanfics, who would have guessed?

Anyone got recommendations for a rewrite fanfic about Jaune Arc post v9 context, where more of that manic need to help is prominent in it. Like full on doting dad energy for the entirety of Team JNPR and Team RWBY, gained from having a father always out for work, a mother who is always tired and 2 older sisters who always needed help with everything they do because ugh teenage to young adulthood angst and 4 younger sisters who are 4 storms of energy always bashing themselves against each other. Basically, making Jaune and Saph surrogate parents, (optional) then Jaune alone when Saph left to get married.

So he has around a decade and a half of getting used to taking care of kids of all age ranges, and needs to spend that energy somewhere while at Beacon. Maybe have him and Goodwitch bond cause 'ugh kids!' and stuff.

In anycase, should he have the mythical dad strength? Yes, mainly because I always believe the more responsibility Jaune gets, the stronger he should get and vice versa. Hey, his semblances is literally enhancing the souls of others and stuff.

RWBY Huntsmen Potential Levels

I wanna start something for very arbitrary reasons, inspired by Jaune becoming a huntsmen after only 2 years of training when people, if my own unreliable memory is to be believed, usually start 7 years old, leaning fourteen years of training.

So here's the levels

Jaune: 7

Ruby, Penny and Pyrrha: 6

Oscar, Yang, Nora and Weiss: 5

Sun, Neptune, Blake and Ren: 4

If you want for team STRQ

Summer: 6

Tai, Qrow and Raven: 5

Additionally

Winter: 6

If you want the staff

Glynda: 6.5

Ironwood: 5.5

Port and Bart: 5

Jaune and Penny

Anyone else thought that Jaune and Penny should have formed a friendship at some point in atlas, not just because he kills her but because it's interesting for Jaune, after grieving for the lost of a friend/lover? gets to have someone who supposedly he can never lose, an automata with a soul, and Penny gets someone whose just, peaceful to be around. Someone who has the same heart as her and ruby, but has a more down to earth and simple perspective on things.

Basically, Penny is someone who Jaune should have never been able to lose and thus have no baggage with while Penny gets someone who treats her not as special in a good (robots are awesome) or bad way (robots are not awesome), but as a normal everyday girl that they like to hang out with. Both growing to trust each other deeply because they feel like they can be 100 percent honest with each other, without it backfiring somehow.

Then the sacrifice hits and the weight of it is much more crushing.

Responsibility Vs Insecurity

This is a discussion centered around Jaune and what his character is usually about in fanfics. Mainly this is a very short critique about the fact that lots of angst for after Forever Fall Jaune is usually still centered around his insecurity about being a fraud rather than the obvious one of him choosing to grab hold of responsibility by the neck and carry it no matter what. This might just be me talking out my ass, but to me, Jaune has never been about his insecurities or how a fraud turns into a real deal.

To me, he was always a man who by all means made a stupid choice but chooses to take responsibility for it anyway. Rather than excuse himself or overthink things, he is the type of guy who would rather focus on what he thinks he needs to do rather than what he needs to be, because he already knows what he needs to become, he needs to become a stalwart shield that leads his team. Every bit of angst should be about becoming that, rather than that how he isn't that.

A story about a man who takes responsibility when no one can blame him for running away, when sticks to his choice and rather than thinking about regrets and failures but rather how much he needs to push himself to carry those choices he made.

Ruby is the girl who had responsibility thrusted upon her by the irresponsibility of the adults around her.

Jaune is the boy who took that responsibility, no matter what the world says, and is determined to own and carry it.

I just can't find it anywhere, I'm pretty sure it's when Ever After Jaune gets put into the past at the start of beacon and he just acts like autism core

A Knight's Responsibility

Does anyone have a fic in which Jaune actually takes himself as a leader seriously, having to carry the weight of responsibility of the people around him? Like not in an edgy way but more so becoming a foundation for them where Ruby usually becomes a gun for them?

Doesn't hurt if the more people he is responsible for, the stronger he gets btw
