30min Drexciya documentary on YouTube

Thought some ppl here might be interested in this, just came up in my suggested page from a small channel. An informative and nicely made brief history of the Detroit techno scene that Drexciya came up in, their musical journey and what made them stand apart. RIP James Stinson

Mystery of the Redbrook / Laxbrook versions (2013-2023-2026)

As people quickly figured out Laxbrook is basically a re-interpolation of the Truss track Redbrook, There's also another unreleased version that Four Tet played in his Lot Radio December 2023 mix. It's interesting there's 3 similar versions of this track each with a different feel and sound palette... Are there any other demos or versions played in the past / or are around online? I've linked all the versions I know of below so you can hear their differences and compare.

I'm rly curious about the journey of this song over the last 13 or so years. Don't know anything about it or if Overmono have spoken about it before, played it out live, or what it's importance is to them and why they have essentially re-made / updated it multiple times for over a decade. I'm interested to know which version people here like most and why? :)

Loraine James - Detached From The Rest Of You (LP 2026)

Really liking this spacey, airy, detailed new album from Loraine James. I love the 90s / early 2000s electronic sounds she’s channelling here mixed with her own previous styles. The collage of samples and textures is almost like an evolved take on Japanese glitch / ambient clicks & cuts blended with other genres like trip hop, jazz, jungle, IDM and vocals on the different tracks. Would love to see this performed live in some way hopefully soon.

Makes me think of artists like Sweet Trip, Farben, Oli XL, AOKI Takamasa, Shuttle358, Ulla, Jan Jelinek, Bjork (especially Vespertine), Noriko Tujiko, Oval…
