looking for beta testers for the first computer focus device

We are three Sophmores who created the first ever physical focus device for computers. Locking away all unnecessary distractions while you work and finish tasks, and we are confident about our products effectiveness.

We were so sure of it that we took a step forward and pitched to entrepreneurs for company funding. But they didn't believe in it. They sent us away back home with not a dollar to spare to grow our company.

Now we are back to show our products worth. We are looking for future testers of our focus device who can give us feedback on how our product improved their workflow whether it helped them get through a task 1 hour faster or didn't help at all.

We will reply to all comments and objections below.

Thank you - ZenTap Team

Question: What to do if your teammates dont to much?

For the past six months, my two friends and I at 15 years old have been building ZenTap, a focus brand that blocks apps and websites on your phone or computer using a physical element. We just launched on the Google Play Store, and are trying to get it onto the Apple App Store.

The problem is that I'm doing 99% of the work and I'm completely burnt out.

I'm just a 15-year-old in high school who hasn't even taken a business class yet. Still, I'm the one reaching out for funding, asking people on Reddit for advice, and driving this startup forward.

I'm not asking for much. I let it slide when they say they have other commitments. But when they're clearly just sitting there playing video games, can’t you spare me at least 20 minutes? Twenty minutes is only 1.39% of your day.

Whenever I talk to them they say, "Okay, we get it, we'll do it." They work energetically for one day, but the next, they return to their usual habits and I have to constantly push them just to get shit done. Even worse, they act like they’re doing me a personal favor when you should be doing what's good for the company (ZenTap).

Then there's the excuses. When I ask them to do a specific task, their immediate response is, "Oh, I don't know how to do that." It frustrates me because when they first asked me to build ZenTap, I had no idea how to code. I still don't even know how to write a line of code in Java apart from System.out.println("Hello World"); lol, But I didn't say "I don't know how" and give up. I figured it out took charge of my shit and built a great app from scratch with a beautiful UI that devs would charge 100s of dollars and not some AI generated crap.

I know I would just drop it and start my own shit, but I'm too invested money-wise into the company to just back out or walk away. I'm stuck... I need this project to succeed because of the money I've put in and a vow made to not give up... but I'm tired from carrying the weight of three people. I started something else with my other friends and they work hard with deadlines and do stuff and them working hard just made me rethink and question the work put in by my other friends for ZenTap. I also don't want to give up as I truly love this business and want it to go far...but how much can I do I guess I just try to hard. And of course in general I don't want to give up. What also pissed me off is when one guy is like we got it onto the playstore as if he did anything to get it onto the playstore when I am the one that made the app and passed the closed testing phase google makes u do and then he gets pissed when I said who's we...

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of problem, especially with friend how do you handle this problem?

At what point do you restructure the business or cut dead weight when you are taking on all the financial risk and doing all the technical and business work?

Any practical advice on how to navigate this without harming the business would be greatly appreciated. I guess I just try to hard? I hope they aren't reading this as I am on my business account lol but I guess they don't check reddit...

Focus shouldn't be a luxury and we want to change that.

Hi. We're three 15-year-old high school entrepreneurs, and we want to redefine the focus industry. We have tried many focus device tools like Brick, Bloom, and Unpluq, but one thing we have noticed is that these devices are way too expensive. Brick costs 60 dollars, and Bloom costs 30. And the built-in parental control apps like Apple Screen Time and Google Family Link? They are just way too easy to bypass, as these companies not only want you to use your phone more, but they also don't teach kids self-discipline; instead, they teach them to use their willpower to find a loophole or glitch and exploit it to keep using their phone. As kids, we know. Focus shouldn't be a luxury but rather a tool, so for the past 6 months we have been working on ZenTap, a focus brand that uses NFC cards to pair with an app to block apps and websites on your phone. Think of it this way: a key locks and unlocks a door; similarly, our card blocks or unblocks your phone. This way, you have a physical, real-world element. But it's not just our card. We can also block apps and websites on your computer using a real-world element so you can stay focused on your computer too.

This all started because one of our best friends was scrolling a lot. He dropped out of the JV badminton team and got slapped with a $400 fine for biking while scrolling. So we made this product to help him. We see a world where that badminton player gets back on his feet, where the real world is lived off the screen. We pity a moth for mistaking the lamp for a light, yet we mistake the screen for our life.
