Luggage recommendations
I am moving for university soon and I have not picked my luggage yet. I’m looking for something reliable and has good theft protection preferably under 250$ CAD. I’ve had some people tell me soft shell some tell me hard. Zipper vs zipper less; and I am very lost. I’m going from Canada to Australia so quite a long trip. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Subclass 500/ student visa
Online it says that I have to show proof of 29,000 AUD for living expenses, plus other requirements. But I’ve also been told that you can use your parents proof of income if they make above a certain amount a year instead of the 29,000 requirement? Anybody know how it works? I’ve tried to find a contact form on the Australian government website, but it just sent me to general inquiries to search through. I also tried to call the consulate in Vancouver, but it redirects you to the website.

Loose stitch on embroidery
Just this new pair of jeans and I seen in the picture. There is a loose stitch of obviously not gonna cut it. I know what the best way to repair it because I’m afraid to wear it out and get it snagged and unravel part of the embroidery. Who would be the best way to take care of it ? Also, since it’s a darker washing machine, should I get rid of vinegar wash first or no?
Edit: I used voice to text. That’s probably why it doesn’t make much sense when I’m trying to say.

Loose stitch/ washing
What would be the best way to deal with the loose thread? I don’t want to cut it as it’s looped into the rest of the embroidery obviously. And for washing it since it is a darker colour of jeans should I do like a vinegar wash first or would that mess with the embroidery? Thanks!
