PSA: FamilySearch does not send you email notifications when you are messaged by other users

Just a public service announcement for a fairly annoying oversight of FamilySearch. Any direct messages you receive, you will not be notified through email. You will get emails about changes to people you follow, "new" records, new photos added to distant cousins, famous people you may or may not be related to, or that you have nondescript "notifications" regarding the FamilySearch tree; but you will not receive any notification that someone has messaged you. There is no profile setting for this.

I'm not sure if you have the iphone/android app if it does push notifications, but on desktop the only way you can tell you have a message is by logging in and looking at the tiny chat bubble on the top right for a small red dot.

So if you are wondering why a person isn't replying to you, that's probably why.

Log in to your FamilySearch account every so often to give it a check, there might be a message there you want to read.

Stock video pizza used in a Phy The Neutrophil video

Looks like black olives and sun dried tomatoes, sparsely yet completely unevenly strewn about, burned and served on a microwave carousel.
It's surprising how weird and out of place it looks among all the very normal hors d'oeuvres.
And is this outside with snow on the ground?!

Landed an SX-70 at the junk store for $2.30! Needs some work, but the optics look great.

Found it at a place I affectionately call "The Bin Store" where most stuff is $1.59/lb. This is the first time I've seen a non-point-and-shoot that wasn't completely trashed. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can fix the shutter button, whether to cut my own replacement leather or buy a kit, and how to do a 600 mod.

General Land Office (GLO) website changed?

I use the BLM GLO sporadically, and the last time was probably a few months ago. Upon using my old bookmarks for the map-based search and the advanced text-based search, I'm greeted with a request to log in to my Login.Gov account or use my Govt ID. Strange, but after doing that it says my account isn't linked to my BLM account.

The whole website appears to have been redesigned. The map doesn't appear to be responsive, the "advanced" search is very basic, and the results are bare bones and displayed poorly.

Did they nuke the site and rebuild it? When was the last time anyone was able to use the old version?
