Hey - I'm kicking off a 14 player dynasty league with a group of experienced players who are all friends IRL.
One frustration we have had with large dynasty leagues is how little value there is later in the drafts and how it can take a long time to unseat top teams.
I've seen contracts used as a way to combat this, ensuring the talent pool in the draft has more depth, however, with no native tools in Sleeper, this feels complicated to implement.
I had a thought that we could instead enforce roster cuts at the end of each season (by a certain date).
We have 19 man rosters (including taxi, not including IR), the idea would be you have to cut your roster down to 15 (or something) at some deadline date before the draft. This would force tough decisions and increase the talent pool in the draft. Should it be weighted so that top teams drop more players (since worse teams are more likely to hoard young players with lower hit rates)?
Has anyone tried anything like this? Is there a name for this? Is it something common I hadn't heard of?
Any input appreciated, and thanks in advance.
Is it possible to do a startup draft? I converted my league, but now the max number of rounds in the draft is 10 and there's no option to make it a startup draft.
I'd really like to preserve my league's history.
This has been asked, but not for a couple of years, and I'm amazed in Sleeper hasn't fixed it if it still requires starting fresh.
Hi! Sorry if this is a repetitive question in this sub.
I'm helping my Grandfather-in-law pick a new laptop, he basically only uses it for Ebay, Youtube, and Gmail, and he only keeps it at a desk (doesn't travel) so I think a 15.6" Chromebook is a great option.
I don't think he would get much (or any) benefit from a touchscreen, and he doesn't need much storage, just a quick and easy device for internet browsing and streaming. His budget is ~$300, and he's pretty opposed to buying refurbished.
With that in mind, I thought this looks like a good option, but in doing due diligence I couldn't find much feedback on that specific model, and also wanted to see if there's a better option of consideration I've missed.
Thanks in advance!
Edit- thanks so much for the help in the comments, I ordered one of the recommendations I got there and feel way more confident than I did before.
PR Day is this weekend, hoping to celebrate this side of the river.
Anyone know of any PR events next weekend, even any bars doing PR nights, here or JC or nearby?
(And yes I know the city will have a lot)
Thanks in advance
