Turn 360° video into an interactive 3D Tour, all in the browser

Been building a platform that converts 360 videos into fully navigable 3D tours you can share with a link.

The workflow is straightforward:

  1. Capture your 360 video: disable auto exposure and autofocus, move through the scene at 3 different height levels, and export with auto-stabilization turned OFF
  2. Upload your 360 video to captures.studio : a photorealistic 3D will be automatically generated
  3. Edit, cleanup, and enhance your generated 3D in our Editor
  4. Add interactive elements : images, video, spatial audio, 3D mesh, and more
  5. Set up your tour using multiple customizable viewpoints
  6. Hit publish and share the link : anyone can view it instantly in their browser

Would love to hear what the community thinks, especially from people already creating Matterport-style 3D tours using 360 cameras.

Try it at captures.studio

PS: If you want free reconstruction credits to test it out, feel free to DM me.

Captures Studio v1.2.0 released: 360 Support, API and many more.

Hey everyone, We just shipped v1.2.0 of Captures Studio and wanted to share what's new:

  • 360 image/video support : you can now feed equirectangular content straight into the Gaussian Splat reconstruction pipeline
  • Extensive Branding Support : logo, colors, fonts, etc
  • Fully Customizable Info Panels : think Notion-style editor with images, video, audio, embeds, etc.
  • API access : reconstruct via API now if you want to plug it into your own workflow
  • Social layer : likes, comments, and sharing on your 3D content
  • Interactive 3D capture tutorial : guides you through getting good shots/video for reconstruction

Would love to hear your feedback. More coming soon.

I made an interactive 3D capture tutorial showing exactly how I shoot indoors for Gaussian Splat Reconstruction

Hey everyone! A lot of you asked about my capture process from the last indoor scan I shared, so I put together a proper tutorial/case study.

Instead of just listing tips, I broke down exactly how I captured the images – camera settings, movement patterns, and best practices. The main thing I added is an interactive 3D visualization so you can actually see the capture camera alongside the real images I used.

Would love feedback on my process and happy to hear if I missed anything. Hope it helps!

Indoor Gaussian Splats from Images only - I think i got it working.

Getting good quality gaussian splats of indoor scene using images only is quite difficult. The plain / featureless walls often tend to turn into fuzzy cloud like splat, which is quite frustrating to deal with, and it can feel like good results just aren't possible without LiDAR.

So i've been experimenting with the ways to improve the reconstruction using images only and i think i've finally got it. I'm getting consistently good results. Few artifacts here and there but still decent results. Dropping some of the results below. Would love to hear what you think.

Gaussian Splatting is powerful, but the workflow is still pretty fragmented:

  • You need a powerful GPU + reconstruction software (like Postshot, Litchfeld Studio)
  • Clean up the output using something like Supersplat
  • Switch to another platform to build, host, and share the experience

Lots of tools, too much context switching — just to get something out.

I built Captures Studio to simplify this whole pipeline. It’s fully browser-based — no installs, no GPU required. You can upload images/videos and get a reconstruction, or bring your own splats. From there, you can edit, clean, add media, and build interactive scenes in one place.

The goal is to make Gaussian Splatting more accessible — whether you’re just experimenting or building something more serious.
