Not committing to bingo cause I don’t think I have it in me this month but still celebrating spooky season!! Am I witchy enough yet 🫣

So my polish picture skills are hit or miss at best and its been a tough time (unexpected loss in the family) but I know two things are true—wearing a polish that makes me feel good feels is a gift and my fellow laquerists may enjoy this polish too.

Still just posting what was strictly project polish as it keeps for an easier update.

Holographic Not used, photo-ed on the last slide just to keep top of mind, will try to use once next month.

Purple Shimmer Not used, photo-ed on the last slide just to keep top of mind, will try to use once next month.

Blue “Topper” Used in an algae attempt and the texture took me out. The other time apparently I chose to re-wear the moody thermal I mentioned last month.

Crème Nude Ironically one hike back into nature (with nude nails so no epic views mani pic) has helped my skin tone reset enough that this is no longer "skin nails". Used as a base for a couple manis, photo 4 covers an opal magnetic topper combo and it was so fun. Photo 5 was a shimmer that truthfully did help with the base pop a smidge more. Overall though I feel like I had an unofficial theme this month.

Neon Shimmer was a my pedicure shade again. Can't help that I want all the ranges from moody to bright on me.

General Thoughts
Moving definitely gets you to just use one portion of your collection, and I think after two months of this I can work on destashing a bit. I've been around media that has also mentioned the "cost of owning something". Not in a financial sense but in the stewardship sense, it really reinforces that if I don't love it do I really need it? Next month I don't expect as much usage as I am supposed to travel lots but it really depends as some life things may cancel a chunk of travel...

In relation to how consumerism has absolutely tanked the local love of Jimothy, a raccoon with short-spine syndrome. Felt too fitting not to share here (would repost but was not allowed!).

Every time I get fomo for not doing a rewind of that color I’m reminded I have a color that scratches that itch soooo well. Happy weekend folks!

Getting back into fermenting, starting with something new to me—ginger bug/soda! I have the bug going in a quart jar but will a growler work for when it’s time to make the soda/build carbonation? Sorry for the 101 question but I know there are some serious aficionados here!

ETA: thanks everyone for your feedback! Treating this like I would a good old kombucha fermentation and restocked on F2 flip top bottles.

Changing up format a bit since moving. Also just posting what was strictly project polish as I lovingly have spammed bingo posts separately this month!

Holographic Did not touch, had too much fun using other manis to fill the bingo board, no regrets.

Purple Shimmer ended up being the perfect base to make a magnetic even more juicy and dramatic. I love it when color theory can do it's thing. Did not use enough to make a new line but sheesh the payoff for it was so worth it.

Blue “Topper” ended up extending a moody thermal I am in love with but never get to wear enough. Not enough use to make a new line but was a very fun topper use.

Crème Nude well, no one can say I did not try to see what this was like as a standalone as now I know it's my perfect "skin nails" look. Also was a great base on my teal mani, we will see if I can make it a smidge more jelly of a shade so I can use for nail art bases post move.

Neon Shimmer was a pedicure again, and we stay ten toes down on no toe pictures from me!

General Thoughts
Thank you u/asnailsdo for making such a fun bingo, I wish I could have had access to my stash to do more (true colors comes to mind as well as glitter bomb which was my first polish I packed LOL) but it really helped me fall back in love with my collection and organically pick up these project polish bottles!

Since I'm typing this before we pack up the last of our big items, can say polish was a good way to be balanced this month. Hope to pack the project polish bottles so they can be put to use in our new home but TBD.

Mid Year Notes

It's really cool to see in how 6 months I finished two of the three original polishes I chose. I do feel nice mental shift with having colors like the neon and shimmer included, it's like I am reinforcing the permission to make memories with some of my favorites and it's been pleasant to remind myself I personally do nail stuff to have whimsy in my life and it's okay to use my collection.

Tyche’s Stendhal is a beaut, but I was curious how much deeper this would be if I had a color under it since the magnetic has a sheer base. So one layer of Lurid’s Indomitable with two layers of Stendhal later we have this! (Magnetized with a horseshoe and neomydium bar diagonal on top of the horseshoe.)

I remembered seeing this at some point and it was living rent free in my head for this bingo 🙈 immediately messed up my nails as I pack for me move so RIP 😭😂😭

Surfs up is more like deep waters but I’m just obsessed with that blue 🙈

I’m in post long work week “hangover” and needed to get my gorgeous but well grown last mani off me so I put a project polish color I normally wear under colors to boost the contrast…I’ll paint it tomorrow but I was so curious if this counts as raw chicken or even flesh nails since it seems too close to skin tone lol

First two is the thermal for my bird submission, third I’m super proud of and then immediately smudged it cooking 😭

Enjoying my polish as much as I can while the weather is nice!
