Beginner confused about Ollama vs LM Studio vs llama.cpp vs vLLM vs Unsloth — can someone explain?

Hey everyone!

I'm a beginner getting into local LLMs, and so far I'm familiar with Ollama. I've used it to download and run models locally, but I'm starting to see a lot of other tools being mentioned, and honestly I'm a bit confused about what each one actually does.

I keep coming across:

Ollama

LM Studio

llama.cpp

VLLM

Unsloth

From what I understand, some of these might overlap while others serve completely different purposes, but I'm not clear on which tool is meant for what.

I'm especially interested in understanding the big picture, rather than just which one is "better."

If someone could explain these in simple terms, maybe with an example workflow showing how they fit together, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

How can I run Qwen3.8:27B on my RTX 4060 8GB + 16GB RAM laptop?

https://preview.redd.it/jrfrkcvgipnh1.png?width=1536&format=png&auto=webp&s=5670269ae2f4d5c4e28140199ccb5ac8eba35b12

I have a laptop with:

  • RTX 4060 8GB VRAM
  • 16GB RAM
  • i7-14650HX

I want to run Qwen3.8:27B locally on my laptop, and I don't mind using Ollama, llama.cpp, FreeToken, or any other method. I just want the best practical way to make it run.

I recently saw a reel using FreeToken to run large models:
FreeToken GitHub

Can FreeToken actually help me run Qwen3.8:27B on this hardware?

I also saw people running it through Kaggle. Would that be a better option, or is there a way to get it running directly on my laptop?

Looking for the simplest method + recommended quantization/settings. Thanks!

Title: URx sent me a mouse instead of the Core68 keyboard I ordered — Order #8923

ordered Core68 Hall Effect Keyboard – Black Contour from URx for ₹4,274.05. My invoice clearly shows the keyboard as the item ordered (Order #8923, dated 7 August 2026).

However, when the package arrived, I received a mouse instead of the keyboard.

I’ve contacted URx regarding the issue and am waiting for them to resolve it. I’m posting this here to document what happened and also to see if anyone else has faced a similar issue with URx.

I have the original invoice and can provide photos/videos of the package and the item received if needed.

What I expect:

Pickup/return of the wrongly delivered mouse

Delivery of the Core68 Hall Effect Keyboard – Black Contour that I actually ordered

If URx cannot provide the keyboard, I expect a full refund of ₹4,274.05.

Has anyone else had an incorrect-item delivery from URx? How was it resolved?

I’ve tried Cursor, Claude Code, Ollama, etc. — but I still don’t know how to use AI effectively for coding

I’ve experimented with Cursor, Antigravity, Claude Code/CLI, Ollama, Gemma 4B, MiniMax, Hermes Agent, and different local/cloud models.

My problem isn’t knowing what these tools are—I don't know how to use them efficiently in a real development workflow.

I’m confused about:

Which models are best for coding, debugging, planning, and reasoning?

Which free/cloud models are actually worth using?

Which local models are good for coding?

When should I use Cursor vs Claude Code vs an agent?

How should I combine local + cloud models?

How do experienced developers use AI for vibecoding without creating a mess they have to fix later?

I'd love to hear your practical workflow:

Task → Tool/Agent → Model → Why

I'm more interested in real-world experience and workflows than benchmarks.

Basically, I've learned how to run AI models. Now I want to learn how to use them properly for development.

New to Linux & Arch — Help Me Rice My KDE Plasma Setup!

Hey everyone!

I'm a complete Linux newbie and just installed Linux for the very first time. With a lot of help from ChatGPT, I ended up installing Arch Linux (LTS kernel) with KDE Plasma.

Now that I've got a working system, I want to dive into ricing and make my desktop look amazing. The problem is... I have absolutely no idea where to start. 😅

I'm looking for beginner-friendly guidance on things like:

  • Must-have tools for ricing
  • KDE Plasma customization tips
  • Cool themes, icons, cursors, and fonts
  • Widgets, docks, and terminal setups
  • Wallpapers and live wallpapers and overall aesthetic ideas
  • Any YouTube channels, GitHub repos, or guides you'd recommend
  • Other apps i can use in my ARCH
  • I am only having basic apps now
  • If you were starting from scratch today, what would you do first?

Feel free to share your setups, favorite resources, or any beginner advice. I'm excited to learn and hopefully build a clean, beautiful desktop over time.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Here is the Boys hostel of ABES. As senior from Abes Ec

Heyyy Juniors! 👋

I’m a second-year student at ABES EC and currently staying in the hostel. The picture I’ve attached is of my room from first year. I had a triple-sharing AC room. Since I was a little late in getting my room allotted—even though I came on the first day of counselling.

Honestly, staying in the hostel was such a wholesome experience for me. I randomly chose my roommates without knowing them beforehand, and luckily, they turned out to be really nice. We had a great time together throughout the year! ❤️

One thing that helped me a lot was my electric kettle 😭😂. I used it throughout the year to make Maggi, boil water and eggs, make coffee, and a lot more.

The washrooms are not attached so have to adjust with 60 others on your floor to use the washrooms and bathrooms.

Ravi Sir is the warden of the first-year hostel blocks (RKB and VKB), and he is genuinely a very nice and understanding person. From my experience, he was quite chill about students using things like kettles and egg boilers.

As for the hostel food, it honestly isn’t that bad. Of course, it may take a little time to adjust, but overall, you can manage pretty comfortably.

Baaki, if you guys have any questions or need any help regarding the hostel, college, rooms, or anything else, feel free to DM me. I’ll be happy to help! ❤️

Excited to meet you all when you finally arrive at the hostel. Welcome to ABES EC, and all the best for this new chapter! 🫶✨.

FH6 online Isn't working, please help with online fix

So I used the new online fix from Online-fix site , but it's still not working, please help me with this issue.

u/__Beastboy__ — 3 months ago

Why are there so many different FH6 versions/repacks? What’s the actual difference?

I downloaded Forza Horizon 6 from DODI 2 days ago, and it said it was a portable version, meaning I could just download and play without installing it.

Now I’m seeing new uploads from both FitGirl and DODI with things like:

  • different version numbers
  • multiplayer support
  • DLC counts
  • repacks
  • portable versions

So now I’m confused about what the actual differences are between:

  • portable version
  • repack
  • updated repack
  • multiplayer version

Do I need to reinstall the game every time a new repack/version comes out, or can I just update my existing one?

Can someone explain this properly?

Hi everyone,

I’m a college student with around ₹6,000 that I want to start investing instead of spending.

Details:

Amount: ₹6,000 (will add more in future)

Time Horizon: ~6 months

Risk Appetite: Low to moderate (don’t want to lose money)

Goal: Mainly to build a habit of investing and keep money safe from unnecessary spending

I’m confused whether I should:

Put it in stocks

Start a SIP in a mutual fund

Or use safer options (FD / liquid funds)

Since the time period is short, I want suggestions where there risk is minimal but returns are better than just keeping it in my bank account.

App used : GROWW , or you can suggest

Would really appreciate beginner-friendly advice 🙏
