One of my crow friends joined me on the bench today.
Happy day!
They also brought me my first gifts today. I'm confident they were gifts cause I watched them bring them over and set them down by the bench. A feather, a wrapper for cigarette filters, and a bit of an old rubber ball.
Feeding the crows this morning
Love feeding the crows who are most confident and comfortable with me like this.
They also brought me my first gifts today. THREE! Watched them bring them over and set them down in front of the bench I was sitting on. A feather, a bit of an old rubber ball, and a wrapper for cigarette filters lol
Also any info on the call the crow makes?
Sorry if this is a double post. Tried to post earlier but it disappeared.
Missing item and disappointing customer service
Been using huel off and on for many years. Luckily I only ever had one issue with a burst bag of hot and savory. They gave me a voucher for my next order. All good.
Last week on Thursday I received my order, taped over with DPD tape. Open it and a full box of hot and savory is missing. Very frustrating. I email customer service right away.
In the (presumably) automated reply it said "I've arranged for a replacement box of katsu curry noodles to be sent out to you as soon as possible. You should receive a confirmation email with tracking details shortly". They also asked for sow photos. The signal in my flat is terrible so I decided to send them after the weekend from work.
Well last night I get an email from huel saying they closed my support case because I didn't respond fast enough.
After sending photos they say "Thanks for sending the photos over, (name) — and sorry for the confusion and delay around this.
I’m going to hand this over to a member of our support team to review the details and help get the missing Katsu Curry Noodles from order # resolved."
So I'm assuming this is gonna get passed to a real human who will decide if I'm lying or not and then if I'm lucky I'll get the replacement by Friday but probably not until next week.
Crow friend keeping me company*
*shamelessly begging for food
Love these wee guys so much
How much do you remember about books you read years ago?
When I think about my favourite books from a couple years ago or more, I realise I remember so little about them. I have vague recollections of the plots but nothing terribly specific.
I only noticed because I had recommended a book to a friend and when she asked what it was about I struggled to give a good enough summary. She jokingly asked "did you even read it?"
I have a pretty bad memory in the first place. But I'm curious about other people's experiences.
How much do you remember about books you've read in the past? How many years back can you go and still recall a lot of specific details?
Just wanted to share my favourite boy
This is Beans (named because he's sorta the colour of baked beans and he reminds me of Mr. Bean's Teddy for some reason). I got him during lockdown and he's getting pretty well loved these days.
From the moment I saw him I thought "that's it. It is the perfect teddy bear".
My crow friends are already recognising me!
Been feeding them around 6am in the park if I'm up that early.
This afternoon I went to read in the park. As I was leaving these guys started following me.
Honestly made me so happy!
My cat passed away yesterday. So today I brought some cat food for the crows in my local park
Cheered me up a bit getting to hang out with these guys for a wee while
My cat died suddenly.
I got him in December 2017. This photo is from our first Christmas. The bed was his present and he loved it.
Every morning I wake up, and he follows me to the bathroom, then leads me to his food bowl for breakfast. This morning he didn't. I assumed it was the rare occasion where I woke up before him. But no.
He was my best and only friend.
I believe my brother is experiencing psychosis and I'm struggling to help him
First of all, my brother and I live in different countries so I can't physically be there for him. And our parents live in a different state as well.
He's had episodes in the past but nothing this bad. He is in his mid 30s. He's educated. Employed full time as a social worker.
About 12ish years ago he took too many edibles and ended up in hospital. And that is when it all started I think. He had asked his upstairs neighbours to be quiet and then they started intentionally annoying him. But then he began to believe they were spying on him. He thought they had hacked his computer, recorded him having sex, and believed they were stood outside his apartment showing the videos to anyone who walked by. At one point he believed they broke into his apartment and put cameras in. He called the police multiple times and they never found anything.
So he moved back in with our parents (still in the same state as him at that point) while he found a new place to live. They lived about an hour's drive away. He believes that one night these neighbours were stood outside our parents house, shouting and taunting him, saying the address of the new apartment he was going to move into.
Since then he has had episodes like this off and on. But now it is worse than it has ever been. He believes he can hear his "stalkers" taunting him and making fun of him. Saying they found him after all these years. And now he believes they are torturing him with "smart dust", giving him bad skin and pulling out his leg hairs? He is begging me to believe him. He is having full on breakdowns just begging for one person to believe him.
But what troubles me the most is he insists that he has spoken to his therapist about his "stalkers" and he says that they believe him and that all of his problems and trauma comes from me and our parents not believing him when this initially started. When I asked him to seek out another therapist he told me that he had seen multiple doctors/therapist over the years and non of them said he had any psychosis or anything (I do not believe him). And when he begs me to believe him and says over and over "I just need one person to believe me" I say to him that he has told me doctors believe him and he always ignores me when I say that.
I'm really at a loss as to what I can do to help him.
