I’m 22M and I’ve had 3 relationships till now, but none of them ever really felt like “the one.” What messes with my head is that all of them ended for strangely similar reasons.

Every time things started getting serious, I’d hear stuff like:
“You’re too nice.”
“You deserve someone better.”
“You’re not what I expected.”
Or “I thought you were different.”

And honestly, I still don’t fully understand what that means. I never acted fake or tried to be someone else. I was caring, emotionally available, respectful, supportive — basically the kind of guy people usually say they want. But somehow, once they actually got to know me deeply, it stopped being attractive to them.

It’s confusing because in the beginning they’d appreciate the effort, the consistency, the attention… but later it almost felt like those same things became the reason they lost interest. Like being emotionally genuine made me less exciting.

My last relationship ended almost 2 years ago, and ever since then I’ve mostly been focused on myself. But recently, I’ve started feeling that absence more. Not in a desperate way where I just want “anyone,” but in a genuine way where you miss having a person — someone supportive, someone you can share life with, talk to at the end of the day, feel understood by.

And yeah, sometimes it does feel lonely. Especially when you know you have love to give, but things never seem to work out the way you hoped they would.

Now I’m stuck wondering if being “too nice” is actually a real thing, or if it’s just a softer way of saying they simply weren’t attracted enough to stay.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Does the status change after accepting LOI FROM “OFFERED” to “ACCEPTED” ??
