Mom took out a reverse mortgage. And now it’s gotten worse. Help please

So my mother has not made the greatest financial decisions in life. She depended heavily on my grandparents for financial support. It was a to a point where they ran out of their own money.

My mom took out a reverse mortgage and everything was fine until it wasn’t. The interest keeps building. She’s 72 years old and she has a lot of health issues. I want her so badly to go to independent living but she refuses and she can’t afford it.

She’s also a hoarder and the house is in absolutely terrible shape. Hasn’t been updated since the 90s.
Zillow says it’s worth $450,000 but that’s simply location. I’d be shocked if we got $100,000 for it.

I have zero knowledge in this area. Either she says here until she passes and the interest sky rockets then I have to figure it out, or we sell the house. I have no clue what to do. And my mom is putting her head in the sand. This should have been done years ago but I can’t force her to do anything. I’ve tried and tried.

Please help.

Edit for more info: my point with selling the house is to give my mom left over money. So we pay back the reverse mortgage and what ever money we have left over is for her to live off of the rest of her life. My fear is we cannot sell the house at that amount to where we would get extra money. Unless this has nothing to do with it. I have zero knowledge with this so forgive me if this is all stupid sounding.

Poof appreciation post.

This was my Guinea pig, Poof.

I was just going through old photos and found these photos of him. I think they perfectly encapsulate who Poof was. And that is… a poof.

Miss him so much 🤍

Edit: thank you guys so much for the comments! Poof always made people smile and joyful. So the fact he’s still doing so makes me happy!
I got Poof when he was about a month old. He was an accident lol. Guy brought home 2 pigs he thought were both girls and turned out they were not 2 girls. Poof was a Peruvian/American mix. So when you mix long hair and short haired, you get a Poof.

He was a spunky guy that really loved his life. He LOVED dandelion leaves, cilantro, and spring mix. The occasional watermelon as a treat.

He was there for me through many life battles. Break ups, the death of my dog of 11 years, the death of my grandma. He was a special guy. He died just shy of his 7th birthday. He lives on through all the smiles he puts on people’s faces.

Long live the Boofer Poof 🤍🤍

Is it possible to improve quality of life in 30s?

Ever since I entered my 30s, I’ve been severely struggling. It’s like the stress of my 20s hit me in my 30s and things kept stacking up.

I experienced a lot of loss and a lot of extremely overwhelming events in my 30s which caused me to go into a deep depression.

I’m going to be 33 in December and I’m so sick of seeing a tired and depleted woman in the mirror.

My eyes look tired, I have wrinkles under my eyes now, my hair has gotten thinner, I gained 30 pounds, I have no clue how to dress and where to even look for clothes. I have horrible pains in my body. When I wake up, I can’t even walk because my feet hurt so much.

I’m so insanely lost. I just want to feel the confidence I was told I’d experience in my 30s.

Yes I’m in therapy. Yes I’m starting to go to the gym. Yes I’m trying to find new hobbies.

I just need hope and assurance it’s not too late to feel healthy and confidence in your 30s. So far this has been my absolute worst decade.

Should I ask for more per hour?

So at my current job, there’s 5 kids total.
The age range is 3 months old- 7 years old.

I make 30/hr.

So the reason the parents believed this amount was justifiable was because the older kids are now going to be in school full time and one of them
Part time. So for 3 days a week, I will have the 2 year old and the baby all day until 3:30-5 which is when I leave. 2 days a week I’ll have 3 kids and then the older ones at 3:30-5. That’s when I’ll have all of them. And the parents are also WFH.

Summer has been really flexible since mom is on maternity leave so I’ve had many days where I was able to leave early or have a random day off.

I guess I agreed with my hourly amount since they had a point but the more I see posts on here about how much others make, the more I wonder if I’m getting a bit ripped off.

Ive also never received a Christmas bonus and I’ll be with them 4 years this January. Maybe I don’t make a lot per hour because the family is still
Quite involved? Idk.
I’ve been struggling financially for a very long time. Full disclosure, after taxes, I make $883 a week. And I also live 35 mins from them and construction has been horrible. I need to make more per hour but not sure if I’m even worth more to them.

Just curious what you all think.

Just wanted to thank you all

I had posted something last week about feeling like I’m eating too much. My coach gave me 1910 calories and I wasn’t losing any weight. She said if it was lower it wouldn’t be good for me.

Someone on here said they started talking to a dietitian and I remembered one of my friends is a dietitian.

All the information was absolutely mind blowing. With the work outs I was doing, I was basically eating at maintenance. Hence why I wasn’t losing weight.
My friend said I should be eating 1600 calories. Which is what my gut told me.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I’m going to follow my friends advice and start working with her.

Here’s to hoping to a 30 pound weight loss from here

Month of consistence and working my butt off. Nothing to show of it.

Just a vent post. Sorry if it sounds ridiculous.

So I’m 5’7 at 180. 32 year old female. I was at 175 just a few months ago but I had a massive death in the family so I gained an extra 5 pounds. So I’m at the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life.

I’m currently working with a coach and she’s taking her time with cutting calories so I don’t stress my body and have energy to work out which is fine. I started at 2100 calories (158g protein, 210 carbs 70 fat) and the scale didn’t move at all. Progress photos showed absolutely zero change after a month. Fine.

I’ve been going to the gym 4x a week. I’ve been drinking 80oz of water. I’ve been walking 8-10,000 steps a day. I even walked in a heat wave we had because I needed to get it in. No change in scale. Not even a tiny bit of money. Maybe an ounce.
And I get it could be water from working out my muscle. But 1 month? Zero change at all?
So now we are cutting a little and I’m at 1916 calories
(162 G protein, 173 g carbs 64 g of fat)

I know it’s only been a week but the scale still hasn’t moved at all and I don’t feel a difference whatsoever.

I have a goal by November to lose 20 pounds and I feel I’m just never going to get there at the rate I’m going. I don’t want to be unhealthy. But I’m also FINALLY in the headspace that I want this damn weight off me and I’ll put in the work to do so. My overall goal is to lose 35 pounds . And I just am losing hope I’m going to get there. I’m literally sweating my ass off doing this and the positive is I’m moving my body. But I want this depression fat off of me.

How to balance faith and fitness?

This is probably a dumb question but I kind of need some help.
So when I get into something, I go all in and it’s my main focus. It’s really hard for me to priorities multiple things. Just how my brain works.

I’m currently on a fitness journey and my goal is to lose 25-30 pounds by the end of the year. I’m going to the gym 4x a week and walking every single day.

I’ve noticed lately I’ve been listening to more secular music while working out, I haven’t been praying my divine office, and I haven’t gone to mass every day (I used to go daily and lately it’s only been 2 or so times during the week)

I’m so wanting to get in shape, feel healthy, and allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in a healthy vessel. But I really do believe I’m starting to slowly put it above my faith and I don’t wanna do that, obviously.

I will say, I do at least go to church in the morning and say prayers before I go on my walks. But slowly I stopped doing that.

Any tips are appreciated

Edit: I’d like to add that I do rest. This isn’t absolutely consuming my life. Im just noticing that my focus has been shifting a bit and I’m having a difficult time balancing the 2
