When I was studying B.Sc., there was this guy in our friends' group (let's say his name is Jack) who used to be very friendly with every girl in the group. There were 5 girls in the group among who, two (including me) were committed. This guy used to flirt with all the other three girls and unfortunately two of them got a crush on him. Now one of them was the introvert kind (let's say her name is Kate) who can't confess her feelings because she's shy and the other girl (let's say her name is Leah) was the kind who gets crush on every good-looking guy she sees on her way. Unfortunately Leah was prettier than Kate. One day, Kate came to me and started asking weird things like "What do you do when you're depressed? How to deal with heartbreak?" And when I asked her what happened, she said nothing. Then later that day, I got to know from Jack that Leah had confessed her feelings to him and he was confused whether to say yes. Then I understood why Kate was sad.
Anyway, after a few weeks Jack said yes to Leah and Leah made him keep his distance from Kate. Leah forbid Jack to even talk to Kate. It went for months.
Now comes the twist in the story when we planned a trip to a hill station. Leah couldn't go to the trip because her family was very strict. The moment we boarded the train, we started noticing that Kate and Jack were sitting together closely, touching each other, stuffs like that. Anyway, we reached our destination and went to our respective rooms. Girls had separate rooms from boys and although we were hanging out in a common place, we went to our respective rooms to sleep. The next day, when we went out for sightseeing, we noticed that Jack and Kate were holding hands like couples and whenever we took a selfie or a video, they instantly let go of each other's hands. We got suspicious...but we didn't say anything yet. Then the next day I got up early in the morning because I wanted to see the sunrise in the hills and started waking up my friends. When I knocked on Kate's room, she opened the door after awhile and I saw that Jack was in her room too 💀 I started screaming internally. Later that day, I told another friend about what I saw and she said, "We need to tell Leah about it." I agreed. Then we called Leah and told her everything.
After a few days we came back from the trip and Jack, being oblivious to the fact that Leah already knew everything, went to Leah to gift her something he bought from the hill station market. Leah didn't take it, said nothing to him and broke up with him. Jack didn't even try to get her back.
FYI, Leah wasn't a saint herself, since she caught feelings for Jack while being in a relationship with a senior in our college and she dumped him the night before his final exams to be with Jack 💀

We feel alive because of our pain.
We write poetries because we're tired of carrying ocean of emotions.
Our tears make us realize that our grief is real.

I'm currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Astrophysics and our department is so toxic. The professors don't help us getting any workshop or internship from other universities. They don't give us recommendation letters and are extremely misogynistic. Once I applied for a workshop in a very reputed institute and got selected. It required me to go there for a week to participate in the workshop. I needed to take a week off from my university classes, so I emailed my professor. She forbid me to go. Can you imagine? If I went to the workshop, it would've helped me in getting future opportunities as well. But my professor didn't let me go there. They're very controlling and the power imbalance is just insufferable. What to do in such situation?
