Chinese Booster Boxes

After a lot of fucking around and finding out on alibaba i found a proper chinese vendor for official chinese product (not on alibaba ofc 😭). i can source any new set for around 4000 a piece shipped to me, i’m getting the new stellar crystal and gem box volume 5.
what have your experiences with chinese product been like? i collect pokemon almost solely for the art and so switching to simplified chinese atleast temporarily isn’t a big deal for me.

note: i’m not a seller. please be careful when sourcing boxes from china, there are entire factories just made for resealing.

An excerpt from my TOK textbook

I’m so happy I do the IB (even though it’s insanely rigorous). Anyway, what do you make of this? I think it’s a perfectly apt way to look at religious arguments

Mogra Recipe

Since a lot of people on this sub get the Mogra, I thought I'd share my recipe after dialing it in and trying various pourover methods.

The main difficulty in making the Mogra a phenomenal pourover is balancing (more like cutting) its acidity. The acidity is very prevalent in my recipe too, but it's more than drinkable.

I used the Tetsuya 4:6 method to cut this acidity and highlight the sweetness of the cup.

Using the Timemore C2S, I settled on 20 clicks. You want to grind it decently fine (slightly coarser than the Hoffmann method) to ensure you get more than just the acidity.

Follow the Tetsuya method like normal. The only difference is the first pour (bloom) should have between 35-40g of water (for a 250ml cup, so 17g of coffee), after which your second pour (after 45 seconds) should make the cumulative water weight 100g. After that, pour 50ml at 45-second intervals until you hit 250ml. The cup should be extracted at around 3:35.

Use this as a starting point, or just try it out and see how you like it. Cheers.

▲ 23 r/tea

I normally get my darjeeling from makaibari and while the tea is delicious it isn’t nearly as sweet as this cup from the Arya estate. it hits you with muskmelon (those were on the tasting notes and are VERY prevalent) and later has just a hint of cream. i don’t know if this is a black tea thing (my other darjeelings are all oolongs), an arya estate thing or just something special about this year but it’s delicious

Admittedly, most of the tea I drink is Indian, so I can't comment on the flavour profiles of a myriad of teas, but what I can confidently say is that no cup has yet hit me with umami this strong. I got the Kangra Snow Eclat White Tea from Teagardenia. They're moderately popular in this sub for Indian teas, and I've been a long-time customer, which is exactly why I was confused when the owner recommended a tea from the Kangra Valley instead of my usual orders of (really good) Darjeelings or Assamese teas. I kid you not, the burst of umami from this tea was like an intense clam chowder that settles down into a peculiar yet comforting seaweed sweetness. I don't usually recommend teas (I'm lazy, sue me), but this was an experience so unusual that I felt I had to.

Hey guys, I made a post on this sub with concerns about the mogra from grey soul definitely being a coferment. While I did not get a response by email I decided to call their cafe in pune and ask them directly. Thankfully (for me) I'm not losing my two kidneys (i made a silly bet on my other post) the coffee is indeed cofermented. that shouldn't take anything away from the experience by any means but man I would've really appreciated this information before I had my first sip. I hope coffee roasters in India can be more transparent about their processing

to be very honest with you I was sceptical initially (a little excited too) when everyone on this sub raved about how floral the mogra is. little did I know the jasmine hits you like a truck and stays with you for atleast 30 minutes. their marketing claims seem to indicate that the coffee was not cofermented, but i can bet my two kidneys that if it was not cofermented with jasmine it was sprayed with perfume. there is no way any coffee has an aroma this isolated and strong without artifical alterations. anyway, i've mailed them requesting a clarification, i dont mind cofermentation but i would appreciate clarity both in the cup and marketing.

Is there a Sey alternative in India? I don't mind paying "american prices" if it means good coffee, but so far I haven't found any place on par with them.
