Recruiters: would this resume format be a red flag or okay?

Recruiters: would this resume format be a red flag or okay?

Hey everyone, I’m getting ready to apply for jobs in the US and found this template from a free online CV builder. Wanted to get some feedback from recruiters before I start sending applications.

Does this format look okay, or is there anything you’d change?

Is this resume format okay for [CA] job applications?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on my resume using an online cv builder and wanted to get some feedback from the HR community before I start applying to jobs.

Here is the exact layout I'm thinking of using: https://cviya.com/resume-builder?template=minimal

Does this specific template look good to you from a recruiter's perspective? More importantly, is this single-column layout clean enough to pass easily through modern ATS scanners, or are there any formatting red flags I should fix?

Appreciate any advice or feedback you can give!

Is this resume/CV format okay for jobs in San Francisco?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply for jobs in San Francisco and wanted to get feedback on whether this resume/CV format would work well there.

Template: https://cviya.com/resume-builder?template=classic

For those familiar with hiring in SF, does this layout look acceptable, or would you recommend any changes? I’d appreciate advice on formatting, ATS-friendliness, or anything that could improve my chances.

Thanks!

5+ YOE Developer: Is the pivot to DevOps the best move for job stability in 2026?

Hey everyone,

I’m a Dev with 5+ years of experience (Laravel, Node.js, Vue). Lately, I’ve found the traditional Dev job market increasingly difficult to navigate and I’m considering a hard pivot into DevOps.

I already handle my own Nginx configs, SSL, and basic CI/CD & Docker, but I'm thinking of going "all in" on Kubernetes, Terraform, and Cloud Architecture.

For those in the field:

  1. Is the market for DevOps truly more resilient right now than standard Full-Stack roles?
  2. Does a strong Dev background help in landing these roles faster, or am I starting from zero?
  3. Is it worth the "time sink" to certify/specialize, or is the grass just greener on the other side?

Appreciate the honest feedback.

Which developer stack is best to get hired fast in 2026?

What tech stack has the best job opportunities right now for getting hired quickly in 2026? React, Next.js, Node.js, Php, Python, Java, .NET, etc.? Also wondering which stacks are still most in demand even with AI becoming more common in development.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a resume builder for a while and finally shipped something people can actually use:

The idea came from a pretty simple frustration — most tools either:

  • look nice but don’t help you write anything, or
  • dump you into a blank template and expect you to figure everything out

So I tried to build something that actually helps with what to write while still giving full control over layout and keeping things ATS-friendly.

What it does

  • Drag-and-drop resume sections
  • Full layout control (spacing, typography, colors, sidebar, etc.)
  • Multi-page live preview while editing
  • AI help to rewrite, expand, or improve bullet points & summaries
  • Resume parsing (upload an existing CV and extract/edit it)
  • Export to PDF or image (PNG/JPG)
  • Share resumes via link
  • Multilingual support (EN, FR, ES, AR + RTL support)

Important bits

  • 100% free (no paywalls, no credits, no watermark)
  • No forced upsells
  • Designed to be beginner-friendly but still flexible

What I’m trying to figure out

I’m not here to promote it — I genuinely want to improve it.

If you’ve struggled with resumes before, I’d really value your thoughts:

  • What feels confusing or unnecessary?
  • What’s missing?
  • Where does it break or get annoying?
  • Does the AI actually help, or is it just fluff?

Feel free to be blunt — that’s way more useful than polite feedback right now.
