I just got into hooping last week, im a flat out beginner who knows no tricks yet, and theres a weekly hoop jam at a park near my place. I really want to go, but im not sure how skilled I need to be before I can go. I know these are like "everyone is welcome" type events afaik but would it be weird for someone who doesnt know what theyre doing that much to be there? I dont want to make anyone feel like they have to teach me or anything, and I dont want to be a burden on people's time by being way under everyone else's skill (ill be honest I dont even know how hoop jams work so idek if im pverthinking the right things lol). Any advice is welcome, thanks!

Looking to get more into the punk and basement show scene but dont know much about how to get into that kind of crowd. I knew of Como Back Door and Pink Place (rip to both) and know a few different local bands (Mary Jam 💜💜💜) but thats about it. Any recs on who to follow or upcoming shows to go to? Doesn't have to be specifically punk, any kind of "mosher vibe" (is that the right term? I dont mosh myself (any friend of mine ive seen mosh has either gotten a concussion or a broken nose so it scares me lol) but know im at a good show when a pit forms) appreciated!
