My wife and I saw Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD), at Remlinger Farm in Carnation, Washington. One thing I love about jam bands is they provide poster options: they had all four combinations of foil and not foil, signed and not signed posters. 😅

Here’s the signed foil for the three day run. I tossed it into a cheap Amazon frame and need to find a place on the wall to hang it.

Backstory:
I started with my first pair of PNW boots last fall, and as I explored boot builds, I was particularly intrigued by the natural Dublin light leather, partly due to the light tone and patina, and partly due to the name :). I’ve been patiently (?) waiting hoping that Natural Dublin Light would return for Dome pro this summer but sadly it did not.

When u/fickle_photo2768 posted that he was thinking about moving on from these, and they were in my size and the T55 last, I slid into his DMs as gentlemanly as I could and begged to buy them. He made me a hell of a deal and they showed up today.

They’re my first T55s, after discovering that HNW kills my toes, and 55s are OK, but TNW‘s work well for me. And, while most of my boots are 6” inches with a 5” Whites plus a 5” Ivan Roanoke Denim TNW build in queue, these 10”ers are very different. But they’re gonna work well for me even if just as casual boots.

First impressions:
They’re GREAT boots, and a bit different than I expected.

These are lighter weight than expected, as well feeling as a bit wider than my TNW 11.5D Cinnamon Roughshots. I will put in some insoles and am super happy about the lighter weight given the height.

The leather is clearly broken in and softer than I expected as well. They’re clearly loved and well cared for. These are gonna be comfortable boots.

Unfortunately, they got here a couple days after I saw two Irish bands (Kingfishr and Tadgh Nolan) or they would’ve been my footwear. But I’ll wear them tomorrow night to see Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD).

Specs:
Nicks DomePro ‘25 - 10”, Dome Pro, 11.5D, T55 last, 10", Natural Dublin Light, standard top, pull loop, brass hardware, 4 row toe cap, celastic toe, classic logger heel, natural edge, V100 sole. Kilties are Cinnamon Waxed Flesh from Dale's Leather Works, laces are Nicks leather until I get an order in to Generation.

Passing through on the way to Yellowstone and stayed overnight at mom‘s, which gave me the opportunity to drop into Nick’s this morning. Dakota in the showroom helped me to try on some Thurman 55s which I’m considering for the last on my next boots. Dakota’s awesome. I noted that the 1st/last time I was in the showroom last November, kicked off what has now been three boot purchases m, one sold, with one awaiting production and I still don’t know what I’m doing for Domepro boots yet :-)

I also poked around, looking at leather samples, and good news/bad news is the leather sample I was most drawn to is… Dublin natural light. Which is not available at the moment. Sad face. Hopefully again soon though.

I don’t know what leather this mystery belt is but it’ll work well with (cleaned up) Cinnamon Roughshot, even better with Pred Orange.

I also learned that, even though I’ve lost quite a bit of weight, I ordered one belt size too small, so I have to keep going :)

Getting dirty in the front row. Tonight we have Rattlesnake Milk (psychedelic alt-country) and Kaitlin Butts (outlaw/Okie country). Getting our routine set up for for Saturday’s epic headliners of Turnpike Troubadours.

Short hike down to Kootenai Falls and stretch the legs while driving from Kalispell to Seattle after nephew’s wedding.

I suspect Ridgelines would be better even for a short hike but these did nicely.

A friend of mine here who wears dress boots, mostly Viberg or Grant Stone, commented on these boots. I’m trying to get him on the Roanoke Denim hype train but he’s not biting… yet.

If all goes well, my next or next-next trip to HQ will be in the newly returned Roanoke Denim :)

I was very happy to pick this up this week. My first micro brand after wearing Timex Expeditions and a Citizen E650 for a long while. Looks gorgeous in the sunshine, even though that’s a rare occurrence in Seattle area.
