Grateful for my wonderful neighbors

An elderly couple down the road from me have a massive vegetable garden (it cracks me up how the guy put an electric fence around it on top of the chicken wire 🤣) and texted me yesterday that they were overburdened with green beans. They told me to pick them all! I’m so happy, my dog and I love green beans!

Came across this today in the Amish Lands

I’m honestly torn if an Amish or Englishman did this 😆

Neighbor’s cat won’t stop shitting on my lawn and garden

I have nothing but respect for people having a creature to take care of that’s good for their mental health but I’ll never understand why such a large portion of society is okay with their free roaming. It’s so nasty and obviously infuriating; it doesn’t bury its shit. When I go out to garden or do lawn work I smell it before I see it. If I catch it in action I’ll run out and throw water on it but it doesn’t stop it from coming back the next day. I don’t allow my dog to free roam onto other people’s properties and I’ll never understand why it’s okay that cats can just roam and shit whenever they want, even inside of fenced in properties. Talking to the neighbors about it just gets me a “hehe sorry. Can’t control where the cat goes.” I keep scooping it up with a hand shovel and chucking it as hard as I can against their shed lol.

(No Reddit I don’t have the means for an automatic sprinkler system. Sprays and citrus have proved to be useless and a waste of money)

Just shouting into the void. Thanks for listening to me bitch.

Are these new phlox growing?

I had some phlox in my yard (pic 2) that I ended up transplanting because I realized they weren’t getting enough sun. These little guys popped in their place so I’m wondering are they little baby phlox plants or just weeds? I’d love to repot them if so! Thanks in advance

My wonderful neighbor had a stroke

My 70 yr old neighbor had a stroke just over a week ago. His daughter asked me if I could check in on him today and it was the first time I’ve gotten to see him since it’s happened. He’s having an incredibly hard time walking and using his hands, but the most heartbreaking thing is he is essentially unable to communicate. He understands everything being said to him, he just can’t respond. He kept trying to talk to me but couldn’t get words out. His spirits are so crushed and he was so tearful and kept hitting his forehead (he can however say “dammit” perfectly as well as a few phrases to his dog “here buddy, I’m coming buddy.”) However, it hasn’t even been two weeks so I’m hoping in time he’ll be able talk, even if it’s not perfect like before. I know this probably gets asked to death here, but I was just wondering if anyone had some hopeful experiences to share? He was such a chatty guy, my heart is just breaking for him right now. I don’t mind going over and just sitting with him, but I felt like he was so frustrated / embarrassed at his circumstances idk if he wanted me to see him and I just wish I knew the right things to say / how to help.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Oh, my neighbor’s grandson is hot

Peanut butter & dark chocolate chips, one of my absolute favorite quick and simple treats!

This is really just me shouting into the void, thanks to anyone who takes the time to read xo

I’ve lived in my home for almost 10 yrs now and I’ve gotten pretty close to my elderly neighbor. He had a stroke the other day and is still in the hospital, so family has been coming in and out of his home to help with his dog (I did offer to do this, but they said they have it covered) and everyone is keeping me updated. My neighbor seems to be with it mentally and in good humor, but I guess he’s being a little bit of a butt about a surgery he needs (he’s scared, poor guy) because the blood flow to his leg(s?) is restricted.

A little bit ago, his grandson came over and introduced himself to me and filled me in some more. And y’all, he is FINE lol. He repeatedly thanked me for how good of a neighbor I’ve been to his grandfather and he wanted to exchange phone numbers incase I happen to witness anything fishy. I always knew one of the neighbor’s daughters was an addict (grandson’s mom) by her mannerisms, but I’ve never thought much of it because I see her around so much helping her father. I’ve just always viewed her as an addict with the capacity to do good and help others. I guess it turns out she has stolen from her father in past (devastating) so the grandson wants me to keep him updated when she’s there. He then told me a little about himself and mentioned he was going through a divorce and proceeded to talk to me for like 30 minutes (I enjoyed our conversation)… he said he’s considering selling his house to move in with his grandpa to help him out after his stroke.

I need y’all to tell me no, stop it with these thoughts 😂

ETA I never fathomed this would blow up lol I will literally die of embarrassment if he sees this. Let’s hope he doesn’t use Reddit 😂

Worried about elderly neighbor

I texted my neighbor 5 hours ago that I made some pizza and had asked him if wanted any. We have our read receipts on and he’s never opened the message. I know his daughter was at his home earlier as she borrows his vehicle, however I think she left without him when she drove off? I haven’t seen him let his dog out all night and the dog is barking (although it normally is a barker). I’m absolutely kicking myself for simply not going over there and knocking earlier, but I kind of got distracted with my evening. There’s this part of me that wants to go knock but it’s getting pretty late, almost 11:30 now, and I know by knocking his dog will go absolutely ape shit and honestly I’ve never even been inside his house before so I don’t want to like barge in. But I’m having these paranoid thoughts that he’s not okay or that he fell down his basement stairs or something. I guess there’s always the possibly he did go somewhere with daughter or maybe he broke his phone? AHHH Reddit what would you do?

UPDATE he had a stroke earlier and is in the hospital 😭

Does this happen to anyone else with vintage fishing?

During vintage fishing, I get this glitch sometimes where the circle starts out clockwise but it spontaneously gets pulled backwards / counterclockwise. It only happens on the first fish, but it drags the circle backwards and causes me to miss the first 2 fish :( vintage fishing was the only game I could place top 50 in, so I was pretty bummed this kept happening to me tonight. Anyone else or am I alone here?
