Why strength of bhimsen varies?

So I've noticed so far the one who had killed so many monsters with bare hands took a bit time to over power kichak as well as other wrestlers at virat. So why nobody questions it? The man has power of thousands of elephants and kichak even gave him a fight, it should be a joke the fight is senseless if it lasts more than 10 seconds. So what could be the possible reasons?

He wanted brutal and painful death for kichak that's why he took time?
