The Best Forgotten GT3 circuits?

Which circuits do you think are overlooked/forgotten in the world of GT3 that don’t feature on this year’s GT3 calendars?

If they feature on the following series’ this year, they are excluded from selection:
WEC, IGTC, GTWC (all locations), ELMS, ALMS, 24hr Series.

Domestic series’ however can be accepted, so for example: if you think a circuit on the British GT calendar could be used for European or World series,’ feel free to mention it, even if it would be just used for a GT3 sprint series.

Perhaps name three circuits & why they should be selected. Fire away!

GT3 Schedule Overhaul

Since the introduction of the non-community based schedule for the open GT3 series, there appears to be a reduction in appeal for GT3, particularly amongst those with higher iRating.
Perhaps introducing 4 regional series’ has had an impact by diluting participation.

I believe there needs to be a rethink regarding the approach of GT3, given it’s the most popular car category & the fact that other sims are coming up with different ideas. Here are some fresh ideas:

Championships/less timeslots
The dedicated DTM timeslots were highly successful at Red Bull Ring, promoting more competition. Also, it is clear that Le Mans Ultimate’s Championships approach to one-car with dedicated time slots is working. Rather than have 4 regular GT3 Sprint series every 2 hours, perhaps introduce dedicated time slots for each region. This would likely boost purchases for less-known circuits which deserve more attention.

Real-world calendar schedule
We saw Valentino Rossi practice on the sim at Brands Hatch the same week as the IRL event, boosting attention to the series.
Just like the previous community manager, schedule tracks that follow the real world calendar in the open series.
Not having Nürburgring Nordschleife this week is such a huge, missed opportunity.
I understand new tracks need to be purchased, but just schedule them around the rest of the IRL- focussed choices.

One hour races
GTWC Europe Sprint & British GT typically have their sprint races for 60 mins, making a pitstop compulsory.
The current 20min sprint format for the regionals seems too short & a bit stale, particularly for a B class series.

Anyway, they’re just a few basic ideas to reignite the passion for GT3 within the community.
What changes do you think could be brought in?

“We have an idea and a concept for new track content that will reach additional markets.”

An article regarding future content.
Sounds like tracks in America & maybe Asia could be being added, given ‘additional markets’ (not ‘market’) are mentioned.
There’s also a mention of new cars being added - perhaps those from IMSA.

The Direction LMU Should Take

We’ve seen a lot of speculation since the most recent trailer regarding which DLC would come next, particularly with the ‘Daytona’ tease & Michelin Le Mans Cup hint.

It seems American-based tracks are perhaps the most likely due to the ACO/IMSA relationship, and also due to the situation in the Middle East, meaning laser scanning could be difficult, perhaps with the exception of Sepang.

I’ve seen a few people mention historical content but to be honest, I think the sim should stay in the present. The historical content will most likely be unused after a few weeks, unless by ‘historical’ we mean use tracks previously used in each series (e.g Estoril). Up-to-date scans of such circuits would be a very welcome addition.

With the flexibility of ACO, we’d *assume* other car classes could potentially be added in the distant future, albeit could just be added to the inevitable rFactor 3. Circuits outside the WEC/endurance bubble could potentially be scanned, particularly helpful for GT3 sprint series’.
The likes of Kyalami & The Bend may become WEC rounds for the near future, to broaden the scope of continents.
The advantage of the price model/DLC packs used for LMU is that less-known circuits would likely be purchased, resulting in solid numbers of participation.

Which direction do you think the sim or developers should take in the future? This doesn’t necessarily have to be a focus on future content

Development Update Predictions (2026 S3)

It’s that time again:

The development update is expected to release in the coming week or two. Perhaps one of the members of staff will kindly let us know in the comments again!

Anyway, we’ve seen what’s potentially coming from recent news & teasers (*cough* Caterham), and perhaps a new circuit such as Paul Ricard.

What are your predictions & hopes going forward? Consider each of the following:

  1. Something **new** you think will be mentioned

  2. Something you **hope** will be mentioned

  3. Something you hope for in a **future build**

I’ll start:

  1. Croft to be released (dare I say as a free track?) next season, in conjuction with the Caterham

  2. Work on designing Kyalami, scheduled for release in S1 or S2 2027

  3. One paid track to be rotated per season as free, subject to licensing/contract agreements (e.g Aragon free for one season, then Thruxton the next). This is so that people who previously purchased these tracks have the ability to race on them with decent participation).

Fire away!

Given there will be news at Le Mans, especially with the big ‘Daytona’ teaser on the previous trailer, what do you think will be coming to the sim? It doesn’t necessarily have to just be new content.

My very bold prediction is that we may get an rFactor 3 teaser for 2027 release date.

Given they want to add new circuits outside of WEC and that LMU is on an old rFactor engine, I think it would make more sense to transfer to a new engine ASAP and release LMU content on there, something Kunos made a mistake in doing.
Remember, if Kunos do get AC Evo up to scratch before rFactor 3’s release, LMU may lose many customers, because a lot of the LMU crowd comes from ACC.

What do you think will happen going forward?

Hi there,

As an iRacer who features occasionally in esports series’, I’m actually finding the transition of braking in LMU quite difficult.
For example, when using the Corvette at Monza, I don’t feel anything mid-corner, unless I ‘lock’ the brakes (or maybe I am triggering the ABS).
I’m actually consistency losing 0.15/0.2 seconds per corner because of not knowing where the limit is.
I’ve set both my pedals & car setup braking limit to 93%.

Just wondering if anyone has advice on braking in the sim?
