I've noticed after Ratchet in FIFA 14, Bloc Party has been pretty absent for the most part when it comes to video games.

You could say the thing that helped them a lot in gaining popularity was video games and how prominent their music was there.

Whilst I'm not completely in touch in how someone's music gets featured, it does feel like it's both by dev curation and some record label submitting the tracks.

Way smaller acts get on eFootball or EAFC soundtracks, or various Racing games, yet Bloc Party doesn't anymore.

Whilst Hymns doesn't have much for a sports/racing video game soundtrack, Alpha Games definitely did, but unfortunately the promo surrounding that album was way more minimal.

I wonder with all the promo they've been doing, if their label has some idea to potentially license the new songs for some videogames. Anatomy Of A Brief Romance did release in weird times when most major releases were already released, so the window is most likely pushed for next year, if possible.

Update: found out Octopus was also on the first The Crew, but after that only major Silent Alarm tracks were featured in video games post-2014

It's super nice that they're not just doing the same list of songs all over again. Seeing them pull out Team A, We Are Not Good People, Rough Justice, Signs and etc. is a treat.

They've been doing this for quite a while and it's always fun to think what suprise they'll pull next.

They could easily just play Silent Alarm + hits all the time, but I find it cool they always represent all of their albums on their tour.

Also I'm impressed how good the songs still sound even after they didn't play them for quite sometime, they really trained themselves into being a great live unit.

There has been some negativity in regards to their music, but live they're still top tier band. I kinda wish they released more live albums.

My favourites are absolutely ones with Hip Hop Producers, Rappers, DJ's Electronic musicians or Jazz musicians, I feel like since they search for samples they can find a lot of cool stuff and have usually a lot of cool stuff to say, it's a great way to discover new music whilst also listening to cool stories or backgrounds surrounding them. I especially love how cozy those videos are, the entire vibe is super warm and relaxed. You can tell they're having a lot of fun just talking about what they're choosing.

The worst are usually I've noticed with Indie musicians, their choices aren't always the most interesting, but that's not too big of an issue, Kevin Parker's choices weren't outlandish, but his stories surrounding his experiences with these records + some background made it an interesting listen, but I find it so boring when I see some indie musicians say absolutely nothing interesting, especially if they have a pretentious aura surrounding it.

Modest Mouse and Death Cab For Cutie delivered well received albums, for a lot of people in a long while. Interpol just released two songs that got more praise in just a few hours than their last two albums combined.

Bloc Party releasing a lackluster album while all their "veteran" contemporaries are delivering would be super disappointing and also cost them way too much.

Coming On Strong seemed to go absolutely nowhere, no fanfare, no one is talking about it, even here, the album has barely any promo at all after it was announced.

They're one of my favourite bands ever and I really wanna get them to be appreciated again.

The new Nacon WRC game will be a huge mess and probably the last resort to get some quick cash and bail. That 2032 contract isn't getting fulfilled. I give them 2 games at best.

I predict Milestone giving it another go, I played Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo recently for the first time and I was suprised with how cool the game is and I think they would be a good choice for a WRC game.

Their PS3 WRC games, whilst never playing them, did seem quite ambitious with the number of stages, random game modes, content.

If the New WRC Regulations do succeed in making the sport more popular, I could imagine Milestone getting the licence
