Need advice: Best rigid board for switch testing/reviews (Retired my G

Hey everyone,

I’m a growing tech YouTuber focusing heavily on mechanical switches, modding, and keyboard content. I recently ran into an issue and could use some advice from fellow enthusiasts on what board I should pick up strictly for testing and reviewing switches, rather than for daily driving.

My Current Setup & The Problem:

  • My Dailies: I currently use a GMMK 2 (numpad layout) and a GravaStar Mercury K1 Pro Cyberpunk Edition.
  • The GravaStar Issue: I absolutely love the aesthetics of the K1 Pro and want to keep it pristine for pure daily typing and gaming. However, the PCB features heavy flex cuts. When I was recently swapping switches to test them, I noticed some keys stopped registering or started double-registering. Taking the switch out and putting it back in would fix that switch, but then a different key would act up. It felt like the PCB was flexing too much under the pressure of constant hot-swapping. Since it's a regular mechanical board, there's no calibration tool—and when I put the original switches back in, everything worked fine, proving the board's flex was the culprit.
  • My Concern: I don't want to risk wearing out or damaging the PCB on my K1 Pro since I love this board and want it to last as my main daily driver.
  • My HE Board: For magnetic switches, I’m using the MelGeek Made84 Pro, which has a rigid aluminum plate and handles switch swapping like a champ.

What I Need:

I need a dedicated, sturdy/rigid mechanical keyboard specifically built for testing and reviewing traditional MX switches on my channel.

  • Must be rigid: No flex cuts on the PCB! I want a rock-solid deck that can handle constant hot-swapping in and out without putting stress on the traces.
  • Hot-swap: Obviously essential.
  • Layout: Preferably a 75% or TKL, though I'm open to other layouts if the build quality fits a pure testing workflow.

What are the best rigid, durable hot-swap mechanical keyboards on the market right now that would make a bulletproof switch-testing station for a channel? Appreciate any recommendations!

What a catch only for 29 USD

I was searching for a used copy of Spider-Man 2 on the used game market and noticed this beautiful setting on the shelf calling my name. It’s the Fire element Edition, and I believe the keycaps are not the original ones also missing all the accessories , but at least the switches are original and what a catch .

Goodbye, old friend. My GTX 1060 finally passed away after nearly a decade of loyal service. 🫡

Today is a sad day. After almost 10 years of carrying me through countless games, late-night sessions, and unforgettable memories, my faithful GTX 1060 has officially drawn its last breath.

after every restart wild screen flickering and PC shutdown it self , like a fool, I completely forgot to hit record or film it on my phone .

I’ve officially plugged into the motherboard integrated graphics while I figure out my next move. Going from solid 1080p performance to basic desktop rendering feels like stepping back into the dark ages, but I can't even be mad. That card gave me everything it had.

Rest in peace, old buddy. You earned your retirement. 🪦🖤

Modding TMR keyboards

Hi everyone,

I’m a mechanical keyboard enthusiast and I love modding my boards. I usually do all the classic stuff—tuning/changing stabilizers, upgrading case foam, applying the tape mod, etc.

I’m currently planning to buy a TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) magnetic keyboard for gaming, but I’ve heard a lot of rumors that you aren’t supposed to open them up at all because you can mess up the magnetic sensors and calibration.

Is this actually true, or is it safe to take apart? If any of you have experience modding TMR or Hall Effect boards, I’d love to hear your thoughts and what kind of mods we can do to TMR keyboards.

just made my first TMR keyboard Purchase

Epomaker HE75 V2 TMR

Brand : Epomaker

keyboard : HE75 V2 TMR

budget : 120 USD

Layout : 75%

I just made my first TMR keyboard purchase: the Epomaker HE75 V2. My order is still processing, so I can cancel it if I need to. I did a lot of research before buying, but I'm having some second thoughts.

Just for context, I'm a collector and an enthusiast, not a gamer. I already own two other mechanical keyboards, one of which is heavily modded by me. I know there are better brands and higher-end boards out there, but I had to stick to a budget. I really hope I didn't make the wrong decision! I’d love to get your honest feedback—should I keep the order or cancel it and look for something else? Thanks in advance!
