Made my own potting bench

My first attempt at ‘woodworking’ made out of a couple of old pallets.

Production artwork?

Picked this up in a charity shop today. Can anyone tell me what it is?

What is this beauty? UK

Don’t think I’m getting the right suggestions from Claude. Can anyone help me identify this plant with the variated leaves? Seen in Yorkshire, UK.

Hallway makeover

Took us 2 days to paint and strip the stairs. Still a work in progress but very happy with it!

EDIT - a few people asking for the paint colour it’s a sample colour available in B&Q called ‘Hot Cider’ they made it up for us in their premium valspar paint.

My lovely little London garden.

I’m a new gardener and it’s a work in progress. Working on it so far has been one of the best adult summers I’ve had 😊

[IIL] When I get my hands on you - The New Basement Tapes

I’ve had this song on repeat since I heard it earlier today. I need moreeee - any recommendations? It scratches an itch that very few songs do.

New gardeners in a mature garden

Hello folks, my wife and I have spent the past few months working on our first garden. It’s a fairly mature garden that was overgrown when we moved in. We have done a lot of pruning things back and we removed a huge spreading overgrown bamboo which freed up some space for us to create a bed of our own. We planted some hibiscus, senecio, black lace, lavender and a few heucheras. It was great to be able to put our own stamp on the place.

We are currently trying to help the patch of lawn with lawn seed.

Any suggestions on other quick wins or things we can do to improve? We want to keep the swamp/hobbit hole vibe but would like to add a bit more of a Jurassic twist where we can.

Update on my ugly fence

Thank you folks. As suggested I painted it a medium oak and planted two different types of star jasmine in a planter. Went for a Star Wars Jasmine and a Toscana.

When the fence finally goes we’ll replant the jasmine elsewhere.

How to cover this ugly fence

This fence belongs to the neighbour, it’s in our patio area that leads onto the garden. What can we do to cover it? A trellis over the whole thing? Is there anything we can do quickly?

seasonal shifts?

I had a full thyroidectomy, lymph node removal, and radioiodine treatment years ago, and I’ve been on levothyroxine ever since.

One thing I’ve consistently noticed is that whenever the seasons start changing, my body feels wrecked.

I get head-to-toe muscle aches and cramps, extreme fatigue, and absolutely no energy. It seems to happen during the transition between seasons rather than once the season fully settles in. After a few weeks, I usually start feeling more normal again.

I’m wondering if anyone else who’s had thyroid removal or is on long-term levothyroxine experiences something similar during seasonal changes? Curious if this is common or if others have found anything that helps.
