My gloves are dead..?

I bought a pair of gloves from Ariana Grande's tour merch (I'm going to her concert in 2 weeks and thought it would be good for my outfit), but within less than an hour I was refunded.

Forgive me if I sound weird for this, but what does it mean if the gloved are dead? I'm still learning English, is this some sort of slang or phrase? I didn't want to ask the seller because I got scared thinking I'd sound rude so I went to Reddit first. Sorry in advance!!

returning without a receipt?

hi everyone, i'm in a predicament with uniqlo's crazy return policy. i bought some black pants in store for a new job but after trying them with my new work shoes they're way too long and way too baggy. i bought two pairs, but i accidentally removed the tag off one so in this scenario i'd only be able to return the other pair (this pair is completely untouched).

i literally have everything else EXCEPT the receipt, i even have the shopping bag i bought it in. i can't remember where i left it-- i literally remember taking it and shoving it in the shopping bag too! i have a membership but the wifi in the mall the uniqlo is in is so bad i got impatient waiting for the qr code to load so i didn't scan it for this specific purchase. i can even show them my transaction history on my bank app.

is it cooked. should i find a reselling app or something... each pair of the pants were $50 too so i'm out $100 if i can't find a way to get rid of them for money. all help would be super appreciated!!!!!

what are the chances i'll get into a full class no waitlist

need a class for my minor (technically i don't but its a prereq for like 90% of my minor's allowed courses) and i'm currently enrolled in a section for the fall but it's at a horrible time so i was thinking of taking it over the summer. there's only one section for summer 2 and it's asynch, full and with no waitlist.

can i email the professor to let me in? or do i have to contact the department themselves? i can of course just stay enrolled in my fall section but it would be easier to take it over the summer also so i can progress through my minor faster. idk how the process works, any help would be super appreciated!!

Round1 in Flushing

Went to skyview today and saw the Round1 on the third floor. It seems to be where the old Best Buy/Michael's (and I think the Bob's Furniture?) used to be so it's going to be HUGE. I walked by and saw lights on from the parts of the window that weren't covered up.

Obviously i couldnt find out when its opening but judging by how theres round1 posters everywhere around the mall and how the social media is promoting it more its probably opening in the next few weeks but i could be wrong.

Happy to see it opening, it's definitely something new and fun in flushing-- it's definitely the stronger competitor against Gatcha in Tangram especially since they've become so expensive and stingy with their claw machines.

what to do with this safe??

my little sister bought this safe off amazon back in 2024 when she was oddly paranoid abt her stuff being stolen and she gave it to me when she lost use for it.

she doesn't remember the pass code and can't find the emergency key so this safe is basically useless. it's also empty so it holds no value in this world anymore.

i tried looking up the safe on amazon through her order history but the brand removed the variation this safe is and the link goes to a completely different safe so i can't even try to find instructions on whether there's some third way to open this.

was thinking of just throwing it out, but bc of its weight and since it's metal i'm having second thoughts about it. how would one go about throwing this out? i would assume i can't just chuck it in my trash bin for trash collection.

tried to make banana bread out of a protein smoothie with no recipe..

made a smoothie with protein powder, milk, honey, and okinawa sweet potatoes (the purple ones, it sounds weird but i love their sweetness)

it came out disgusting but i made a huge batch of it so i didn't want all of it going to waste.. googled ways to salvage smoothies and saw u can make baked goods out of them so i decided to make banana bread

had no recipe because i couldn't find any so i made it up entirely: two cups of the smoothie, two ripe bananas, two pinches of baking powder, around two cups (maybe two and a half) of flour, two teaspoons of vanilla, and maybe third cup of cocoa powder.

i baked it at 350° for around 50 minutes, and then checked at the half hour mark. noticed that the edges were baking way faster but ran out of foil so i couldn't cover it and decided to just do a hail mary and hope for the best. 50 minutes passed and i stuck a chopstick through the center but it came out with this doughy, almost gummy like bit so i assumed it was still undercooked and put it back in the oven for another 20 minutes.

i gave up after the 20 minutes and just took it out. cut it and it's SUPER gummy looking if u see in the photos. i can't even think of a good comparison to compare it to it's so weird.

i definitely went wrong with the recipe because i made it up, but what do i do? i tried slicing a piece and baking that separately in my toaster oven for ten minutes at 350° to see if it's just still undercooked but that gummy texture is still there

what to do if i think i'm too overqualified?

i'm currently a college student looking for a summer job (not seasonal/temporary, but instead one i could continue working at once the school year starts again) but i'm not getting any responses. i've applied to maybe 40 entry level jobs (stuff like cashier, retail, food service, receptionist, etc) and 10 internships in my desired field (kinda entry level but does require some experience so i get why i'm not getting responses here). for the most part i've either been ghosted, rejected, or the worst aka i get offered an interview and THEN i get ghosted.

i've applied through handshake, linkedin, glassdoor, and indeed. i was wracking my brain trying to figure out why i was getting rejected and ghosted, and then my friend told me she thought i was too overqualified for the jobs.

i would say my resume is kind of full for a sophomore in college-- i have a 3.7 gpa, i currently intern at a private practice (i'm a psych major), and i've had three on-campus jobs as well as one regular job. i've put all of these on my resume, thinking it would help my chances of getting a job. sure, maybe my resume could be formatted better and some words could be phrased a little differently, but SURELY that isn't what's causing all these rejections..

and to those who might say, "i think you're applying to summer jobs a little late and maybe that's why you're getting rejected"... i started applying back in january.

what do i do?? i saw somewhere i should remove stuff OFF my resume so i don't look as qualified, but i've already applied to all of these jobs with my current resume 😭 pls help...
