Just... Why?

Just... Why?

Walked in to work this morning and they put the open door alarm on our walk in freezer door. You know, the one with the air curtain to keep the cold air in when the door is wide open because we are literally in and out this door every 5 minutes.

I actually said what the fuck out loud because I don't understand the reasoning here.

edit: just wanted to add in I have no problem with it to make sure we keep the door closed, and we usually DO keep it closed in-between. But it goes off after 30 seconds and is SUPER loud. I've had a couple phone calls I couldn't hear because we have people going in and out to stage and prep at the same time and it goes off.

Issues with Trips today

We've been having a ton of issues with trips today. We have everything staged by the trip and when we go to prep the totes for the trip they are in several locations and none of the trips match anymore. I.e. one trip is Ac87 and the other is Lo63 but suddenly one driver is picking up part of each trip, but not the entire thing. Anyone else having issues with this today? It's absolutely tanked our times.

I saw a few posts talking about the rollout of GMDs to regular deliveries (we've already had that). I'm wondering if that affected anything.

Issues with ceiling fans

My mom had a locally recommended handy man install and replace some ceiling fans that are connected to two wall switches. The issue we now have is one switch will turn on both the fan and the light, and the other switch turns on just the light...

We thought maybe it was just the wiring for the new one as it was pre wired but only had a light previously, but the fan that was replaced was already wired correctly and now does it as well. Any idea where to start? We made sure they were 4 wire fans so the light could be controlled separately but I cannot begin to understand how the light would be coming on with both switches but the fan with only one.

Edited to add: one fan is in one room, and the new one is in another room. Both had wall switches to control the light/fan already.

Advice for prepping Spark orders faster

How do you guys deal with Spark drivers all coming at once? I'm a new TL in Digital (transfer from another store but I have experience in the role and was previous a TL), but I cannot deal with them all showing up at once. We go from no orders to 10 in queue and they're all drivers who are less than 10 minutes away. It absolutely destroys our wait time, because by the time we catch up prepping those orders, we have 15 more in queue.

Best Buy joins the filament game...

So not only does Michaels have their own filament, now Best Buy does too. I'm very interested in how this prints and who actually produces it!

YA(?) book about magic in an alternate reality

I read this book many many years ago. It has to deal with magic and I want to say it was set in an alternate Great Britain/Europe setting. The main thing I remember is the protagonist(s) jumping on 'worldlets' like floating islands/rocks (I think they were following a goat??) and the main female character learning magic and it being ordered in her head like a recipe book, sorted by flowers.

I think. It was all very long ago but I still think about that book a lot. Lost many books when I moved from home, and hoping to be able to find it.

Moving to an HoA with included services

We are going to be moving to Florida and the HOA we are going to be part of includes spectrum services. Do I need to actually create a new service account or is there a way for me to transfer my service to the new location considering we get a different deal with the HOA? Just trying to figure out the best way to deal with this before we move.
