Rosette Nebula - Dwarf 3

Another attempt with my Dwarf 3. This time I tried to capture the rosette nebula and I’m quite pleased by the result - especially considering the time and effort it took.

Are there other smart scope users out there? I’d love to find some like minded people or something like an Instagram community. Feel free to drop your user names, I’ll gladly follow you guys and join the gang!

New player looking for community / guild to get invested in

Hey everyone! I’m an all new player and basically just created the account. I made use of some available codes and played the first like 20 levels of the story missions.

Now I unlocked clans and I’d like to find a clan to join, grow and learn. I value loyalty and togetherness and I’m willed to invest time and effort into the game and the clan. I plan to play long term.

Any clan out there that accepts new players?

Thank you!

Horsehead Nebula - Dwarf 3

My learning phase continues and yet again I’m blown away by what the Dwarf 3 can do with so little hassle.
Even that little “cross” effect on the bright stars is done by the Dwarf. Of course it’s not real, but I think jts a nice touch.

I chose Barnard 33 as my next object since I’ve always been fascinated by it.

Orion Nebula - Dwarf 3

One of my very first astro photos. Still figuring things out, wish me luck.

The Dwarf 3 smart telescope seems to be really amazing and capable to produce a visible and decent (at least in my eyes) in the hands of an absolute beginner.

I want to test it to its limits over time and try to make the most of it without having to use additional software like Pixinsight.

I’ve been afraid to use a longer exposure time but it seems it could handle much more due to the EQ mode.

Digicam community on Instagram?

Hey everyone! I love the digicam community and experimenting with my old camera.

Now I wonder if some of you guys run a digicam account on Instagram or if there is any kind of community out there.

I’d love to follow some dedicated digicam accounts and join the fun of experimenting with these old gems! So just share your accounts if that’s possible here.

Thank you 👌🏻

Beginner questions - Pentax 17

Hey everyone! I’ve shoot digital for many years and somehow grew bored of it / burned out due to various reasons. Nowadays I’m more than happy with my phone for documenting holidays, trips and stuff, but for the real craft and “art” of taking photos, I would like to try an analog camera.

I’ve been eyeing the Pentax 17, since the concept appeals to me. But there are a few questions I have on mind as a total analog beginner.

  1. How limiting is the Pentax 17 as a half frame camera? Does it significantly reduce the magnification or scan size potential? Are good labs developing and scanning half frame just as they develop 35mm? I don’t mind half frame at all, I just want to be aware of its limitations as I want to get reasonable sized scans that don’t look blotchy and “digital” from being low res.

  2. I plan to bring the camera to my frequent trips to Asia. I plan to do some travel and street photography there, the majority of photos will probably be landscapes and shots in challenging lighting conditions. Is the Pentax sturdy enough to survive humidity and heat? Would the basic Kodak Ultramax 400 be a viable film choice for this kind of use case?

Thank you so much for your input and helping me take my very first steps in analog photography.

I’m excited to get started.

Cheers!
