milo, my everything bagel of a dog.
Milo, master of the belly rub and stealer of covers came into my life 2 days after I lost my 14 year old soul dog Eli. September 5th, a month ago. a fiery, spunky little guy, he was everything I needed to allow my heart to begin to heal.
my boyfriend and were incredibly stumped on what he may be and decided to do an embark test. Chihuahua was OBVIOUS, because just look at him. everything else? total mystery. we threw in dachshund, pug (he has a tightly curled tail and he snores like a fully grown man), and then our guesses stopped there because there were no traits he had that really checked off boxes for other breeds. so we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more. and finally, the reveal was here.
YORKIE?? MOUNTAIN CUR?? I'm gonna be honest. I had never even heard of a mountain cur before yesterday. I stopped and looked at my 14 pound dog and went, but how? you were from a shelter and were found running the streets with another dog near a hospital. then I began to question, was that dog a litter mate? i had so many thoughts running through my head.
as I am going through the breed reveal one by one, I get to the rat terrier reveal, and I stop and I look at my boyfriend and I just immediately start to sob. my dog Eli, was a beagle rat terrier and I just felt like this was the universe telling me it was okay to allow another little soul into my life.
if you made it this far, thank you for listening to my long winded rant. now excuse me while I go look up the traits of all of these dogs, especially mountain curs since I know nothing about them!
