My mom commissioned this genuine birch bark canoe from a First-Nations Canadian gentleman like 25 years ago as a gift for my father. Glides like silk and it’s light as a heavy-feather.

Dad’s new office.

Edit: please do not attempt to recreate this without consulting a professional. Hot glue will not cut it.

My illustration style was rather heavily influenced by Chris Van Allsburg as a child. Never attempted a children’s book tho. Pencil and ballpoint pen drawings. No digital.

In 1981 my grandfather was in the background of a photo of Pope John Paul II’s assassination attempt, American newspapers didn’t run this photo, my family only had it because my grandfather brought back a magazine from Italy.

A local community art center where I did volunteer work had these. They’re from an Old-Hollywood speakeasy in Palm Springs. Spot any names you recognize?

I hope this fits here, it’s not an item but this apartment was so very vintage and one of the most unique places I have ever lived. Especially since it was on stilts.
