Sunnyvale, the home of truly terrible drivers

Sunnyvale, the home of truly terrible drivers

Scene from yesterday. Driver turns left on Pastoria from El Camino, but decides to go in the oncoming traffic lane for easier access to the moon tea parking lot. They saved 1 min, but put themselves and many others in danger. There were cars on Pastoria at the red light signal, luckily not in the left turn lane on Pastoria (where this ass turned).

(Red line shows the path the car took. Blue line is a literal physical divider between the opposing lanes on Pastoria)

Worst episode?

Just finished 'black market". Was hard to watch. Hard to believe that a Mafia group sprung up in the fleet killing commanders of battlestars and threatening captains and admirals?

Which company is paying random people to install these sensors on top of their cars?

I see them a lot in Sunnyvale. Mostly SUVs. But no other commonalities that I can see. So either it is the employees of some self driving company collecting data, or the company paying people to do this. I am curious.

Edit: I was wrong. They are not paying random people. It is a fleet of nissan cars apparently and according to the thread the company is called Applied Intuition.

Layoffs, done badly - let's make these CEOs infamous

We all saw how some CEOs conducted layoffs recently.

  • Linda Tong of Webflow locking out employees of their work laptops before they even knew they were laid off. They had to resort to LinkedIn to ask their managers.
  • Matthew Prince of Cloudflare laying off thousands and then writing an Op-ed in WSJ calling them "measurers" who don't matter in the AI world
  • Zuck creating anxiety across Meta by doing a rolling layoff via a 4am email.

I want to make these CEOs famous (infamous) for their actions. I want people to remember them.

So I am compiling a list. What other badly done recent layoffs am I missing?

PS: I will try to create a memorable site that we all can refer to and remember. I will NOT make any money off of it.

Edit: Added Cisco and AOL stories. I will keep verifying, finding sources for other stories you guys added. Thank you and keep them coming! Let's name and shame!

Hi all,

We might be moving to Mills Park Middle school area soon. The older one will be a rising 4th grader, so we will have 2 years before we need to worry about middle school, but I noticed that there is a feeder pattern cap on Mills Park Middle. The assigned overflow school is West Cary Middle which is ~9 miles away from our house! How did the district pick this? Is there no option but to commute 9 miles one way to attend the school?

Anyone know if 2 years of attending a feeder elementary school (Mills Park Elem) is enough to get Mills Park Middle assigned?

Thank you!
