Student Discount List?

I'm embarking on my Master's and trying to earn back as much as possible while I've got a student ID. Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be any kind of directory of local shops that offer discounts, so I thought I'd crowdsource some here. Not the Pizza Expresses or Nando's discounts, but local places where you'll probably go anyway and might save a few quid.

Bread Addiction - 10% off

O'Neill's - various, including 20% off food (£15 minimum)

Las Iguanas - 30% off Sun-Thurs

Hub Box - 25% off

Debra - 10% off

Any suggestions for turning music into a crochet pattern?

I asked this question in a crochet group and was suggested to ask musicians. My apologies if this is the wrong sub.

I am looking for a way to mathematically or visually represent a piece of music in a crochet pattern that isn't just making sheet music. My partner works with advanced mathematics and loves heavy metal/plays guitar, so its more the idea than having it make sense to a layman.

My current thought is incorporating the riff from "Paranoid" (though I'm open to other suggestions!) and crochet is quite a versatile medium that allows for texture in a grid (think binary), different colours, information encoded across rows, etc. I might be wrong, but it seems like this might be easier with a guitar piece than other music?

The two suggestions I've gotten so far are a spectrogram (very visually complex, not very mathematical) or a music-box style of raised notes. I'd love any ideas you might have.

Seeking advice on turning sheet music/guitar tabs into pattern

Hi all! I'm an intermediate to advanced crocheter and completely musically illiterate. I had the idea to incorporate a bit of my partner's favourite music into a winter project - music is math and crochet is math, right? But I have no idea where to start.

I'm not thinking filet or mosaic crochet or representing sheet music visually (this seems to be all google turns up); it's not important that the music is decipherable to the layman, just being represented mathematically in the stitches would be ideal. (My partner works with an advanced mathematics so even something that plays with sound waves or frequencies would be awesome.)

My thought was to use multiple rows with each row representing a key (? Seriously I know nothing about music) and then using different stitches to represent different ...types of notes? But as you can tell, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Could anyone who is multi talented offer guidance on how I could go about this? One possible idea was to include the riff from "Paranoid" but I'd ideally like to figure out a system for conversion that would allow me to consider a few different options and pick what works the best.

I genuinely don't think Bronn realised he was walking on his brother.

And Hardie, like any little brother, just accepted his demotion to furniture.

AMA: I multiple cats and am still alive

They weren't very happy, though, so I may not have long.

[NOTE: No kitties were harmed in this experience. They were briefly snuggled, then left to their business with grateful treatos.]
