Please help me feel better 😩

Please help me feel better 😩

I use the Spectra S1 and I feel so stupid I have been wiping down any condensation on the backflow protectors, the plastic and the silicone but not sanitizing it. I sanitize all the pump parts that milk touches. This morning I went to pump and noticed a little dot of mold inside the backflow protector, on the inside of the plastic piece that connects to the collection piece and probably a little mold on the silicone backflow piece but couldn’t see it. I threw out the milk (4.5 ounces!) from that boob that I used that part with and threw out the part and have replacement ones coming, but now I’m freaking out about the milk I have frozen that I pumped the last few sessions? It’s highly likely milk hasn’t touched any of those pieces but I’m worried.

Picture for reference on where the mold dot was. It was on the inside not the outside. Lesson learned, will sanitize the backflow piece once a day 🙃

Anyone else have issues with momcozy m5 wearables after spectra use?

I used to use the momcozy m5 exclusively from weeks 0-6. Then I changed to the spectra s1 to empty my breasts better. I’m currently 8 weeks PP so I’ve been using the spectra exclusively for about 2 weeks and I used my momcozy m5 last night while out and it barely pumped an ounce. I typically pumped 6 ounces on the momcozy before switching to the spectra. Is the momcozy losing its power or are my breasts just used to the spectra? Should I get a different wearable for out and about now that will rival the spectra and actually somewhat empty me? Help please I need to be able to pump in public while out and about 😭

Edit: I made sure the seal and flange were aligned correctly and it didn’t make a difference. I pumped 5-6 ounces on the momcozy in the past and I pump 8-9 ounces on the spectra now.

June freezer stash

This is my freezer stash for June! I pump on top of mostly breastfeeding. This is 242.5 ounces. I took a 5 day vacation at the beginning of June so it’s 5 days lower than a full months stash. I’m hoping to have enough saved up at 6 months to last him until 1 year to stop breastfeeding. I donated my entire month of May stash due to room restrictions. My freezer is full after one month, any recommendations for easy plug in deep freezers?

New parent. SOUND ON! This is a new sound from my baby… is this the beginning of his oooos and ahhhs?

My baby is 7 weeks old tomorrow! This is a new sound for him. He’s been doing this and wiggling around for around 30 minutes along with some occasional cooing. Just want to make sure it’s not a new way of him fussing… he’s fed, he’s changed and he is burped. He’s been clingy the last few days and I’m not currently holding him, just letting him wiggle and kick and talk. TIA!

Took me way too long to realize spectra parts work with other bottles.

I use Philips avent glass bottles and I just now realized the spectra pump parts screw on to my bottles (plus many others!) I found out when ordering different size flanges on Amazon and the off brand products pictured other bottles with their product. I was like “cool! It works with my bottles!” And noticed it pictured the spectra stock bottles as well. Then I went and tested my spectra flange on my Philips bottles and it fit! Only took me almost 2 months 😅

Why are there no public restroom apps/destinations on maps?

I just had my first baby and when I was verrrry pregnant I would always struggle to find a public restroom on my route. I drive a lot for work and always wondered why there’s no popular app for open public restrooms in your area or any way to add a restroom on your route (like via Google Maps or Waze.) why isn’t this a thing? Would there just be no demand?

How long to take MiraLAX?

I am 9 days PP and I take MiraLAX every morning, eat a prune baby food in the afternoon, and take a shot of olive oil to keep my stools soft. I have had painless daily movements since 3 days PP. My question is should I stop the MiraLAX and just stick to the other natural stuff I’m doing or should I continue the MiraLAX (and for how long) or should I gently taper off and see how it goes? I had a second degree tear and I’m terrified of hardening my stools and straining but also don’t want my body replying on miralax. TIA

We did it.

38w 6 days he was born. Labored for 13 hours, 1 1/2 of that was pushing. 2nd degree tear. Recovery is awful, even though it was a very smooth delivery overall. He immediately got placed on my chest for skin to skin and latched first try and fed from me for almost an hour before he got his weight and vaccines. Born 5/8 7lbs 12oz and we were able to go home last night! The emotions and baby blues are out of this world, the crying is every few hours (from me not the baby!) and I felt like such a failure when I asked my husband to run to the store last night and get some formula to supplement my breast feeding until my milk fully comes in. But now I know for sure he’s eating enough and he had 2 huge diapers last night of his tar like poop! My nipples hurt so bad 😩 but he’s so perfect and adorable and loves being held and fusses when he’s in his crib until we rock him to sleep first.
Everyone’s full experience including pregnancy is vastly different, and he’s so perfect but I can’t imagine doing all that again even for the amazing outcome at the end. Even with my low risk, “easy” pregnancy and childbirth to me it was a lot. Just wanted to rave and share some real sides to this journey. Recovery is awful. I’m so grateful to my husband for being my rock and taking care of us and me. I would be a lost cause without him.
