Volunteers needed Saturday Aug 29 for a The 2026 Bay Ride

Hello Bay Area riders. I started TheBayRide 12 years ago and sourcing volunteers is always the hardest part. The ride is on Saturday August 29 and we will have ~1000 riders.

The money it raises goes into making streets safer for everyone, not

only for people on bikes. This year that has meant taking back a

shoulder on Skyline that had disappeared under years of pine needles

and ivy, pushing to make Hesperian survivable at Lewelling, and closing

gaps in the Bay Trail so riders are not pushed back out into traffic.

We could use some help on the day, and I would love it if some of that

help came from around here. There are aid stations along the route,

rider check-in on Friday evening and Saturday morning, and drivers who

follow the course and pick up anyone who cannot finish. You do not need

to ride a bike or know the first thing about them. Most shifts are three

or four hours at a folding table, handing out water and snacks to people

who are very glad to see you.

Volunteers get a shirt, food and drinks through the day, and a spot at

the finish line party at the end of it.

If you have a Saturday to give, the sign up is here:

Happy to answer anything in the comments. And if you know a high

schooler who needs service hours, we are glad to sign off on those.

Coordinating babysitter for tonight

I read a post about the show from two nights ago. Sounds like he was done by 10:30pm. Can anyone share what time he went on and what time it was finished?

Texting with a dedicated business number vs personal line

I've been using my personal phone for all of my texting outreach and thinking of switching to a business line, but then every conversation with a friend/collegue/etc I'd have to say "hey this me". I feel like more and more of my job and outreach is over text and using my personal phone line is a bit annoying. what services do others use to segment these conversation?
