HELP! what is happening to my peperomias?

we moved into a new home about 6 months ago, and it doesnt have the best light. both of these guys had been soing really well, though, esp compared to some of my other plants. they both sit in my living room, one in indirect northern light, the other in indirect sourhern light, and i swap them once a week. i even give my plants weekly “sun days” on our back deck and especially only water these guys when i’m able to do so so the soil better dry out in the sun (note that i do not water them every week, only as needed).

that’s what i did the other day - for once, there was no rain forecasted in Georgia, so I put all the plants out back. it had been about a month since i watered these, so i did so. now, 3 days later, they’re rotting (?) on random leaves and in a strange pattern. is this root rot??? the brown spots are soft/bendy and thin, not crispy. the soil is dry on each of them - i even pulled the larger one out entirely to make sure. please help me, i love these plants!!!

Fostering this gorgeous girl in the ATL area!

Shelter (Atlanta, GA, USA) had her down as a corso mix, and she definitely has that stubborn, funny attitude that i hear corsos/other mastiffs are known for. Whatever she is, she’s absolutely stunning, a genius, and is taking to life at home so well. We initially did a 2 week trial adoption with her, but we unfortunately determined that we may not be ready for a dog right now/may be in a bit over our heads. Any advice on finding her her forever home?

New rescue dog might be a presa/mix…any advice?

Hi! Just adopted this baby girl the other day. Her name is Mandy, and shelter put her as a 2-year-old Cane Corso mix. I originally posted in r/canecorso, and a lot of people said that she looks more like a presa! of course, it’s all a guess, and i definitely think she’s a mix given her smaller size (only 75 lbs - she was a very underweight 50 lbs when she was brought in to the shelter a month or so ago) but i do think i see the presa in her - long tail that curls at the end, a bit leaner than a “traditional” mastiff or cane corso, her eyes…

her temperament was described to us by her foster mom as very sweet, loving, and sleepy, and she was great with the resident dogs there. we’ve only had her for about 48 hours, and though she’s exhibiting some signs of stress in her new environment, we’re trying to decompress her as good as we can, and we’re starting to see her true personality shine through. she’s excellent on the leash - no pulling at all - and has been very sweet and chill with our neighbors dog through the fence and delivery people at the door (some guard dog she is, lol).

all that aside, neither i nor my husband have experience with guardian breeds - we both experience with rescue dogs (of various temperaments/breeds/sizes), and he specifically has experience with large, stubborn, mouthy dogs (great dane mix). what do we need to know in terms of structure and training beyond the usual (establishing boundaries, providing good structure, being consistent, etc)? anything we need to know particularly about socialization with other dogs or anything to look out for in terms of her temperament? we’re going to lean into her sweet nature, but we want to set her up for success as best we can. thank you!

Adopted a cane corso mix the other day - what do I need to know?

Hi! Just adopted this baby girl the other day. Her name is Mandy, and shelter put her as a 2-year-old Cane Corso mix. of course, that’s all a good guess, but she’s definitely something mixed with cane corso or a similar guardian breed, and she’s sitting at around 75 lbs.

help! what’s wrong with my peperomia pixie lime?

*also posted on r/peperomia*
help! it’s in pretty bad shape - limp, leggy, leaves dropping everywhere, but nothing seems soggy/rotting. this lives adjacent to a south facing window on a shelf (so not right in front of the window, but next to it. watering like normal afaik (unless my husband is going rogue). i believe it’s just in normal potting mix.

we don’t have a way to put any plants in front of this south facing window, and we only have two more south, some west, and a couple of north facing windows in our house. open to moving it. this plant means a lot to me, i really want to save it!
