issues that needed fixing for months if not longer.

1. you apply a preset and change a setting -> changes could not be saved. Need to refresh.

2. you apply a present and want to change end screen? preset will be removed, BUT if you made changes to it they are reverted to the default preset??

Some other things like that, you have to juggle refreshing the page to check that things are actually changed quite often.

Please fix the thing

I have videos embedded in my platforms, on sales page and on private area for customers. I have it on my own custom site, and I had in on squarespace in the past.

In both cases, the videos are painful, and I want to know if anyone has had the same experience and found a fix or alternative to Vimeo.

On a bad connection, youtube videos and similar still play, with low quality and some interruptions, but they start playing.

On vimeo videos, they just don't start paying. It feels like the platform is bugged, it doesn't help the user understand that the video is just slow.

It also doens't buffer right, pre load on pause, it feels sluggish and bad, especially since people expect that youtube playback experience.

This is also true for good connection, you have to press on the play video, then wait like a second, then it starts paying but in that second i'm sure i'm losing people.

Are there solutions to this?

I can't host videos on youtube for multiple reasons and I used Vimeo for years so I don't want to switch, but if I have to I will, I feel like I'm losing on sales due to slow playback of videos on site.

The back log is nice, it is much faster and i like how tasks open when you click on them. Props to the clickup team for shipping speed improvements and just quality of life improvements lately!

I posted in this group in the past and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the advice, so here I go again.

I read about sleeping today, as we all do.

And I found out that the "post lunch grogginess" is actually proven as a pattern across cultures, even those with no 9-5 systems and even in experiments controlled for food, light and other factors.

It seems like "we're built to be groggy" in the afternoon, or 12 hours past the "point of lowest temperature during sleep", which matches with the studies as far as I read.

My question: why not nap then?

I feel groggy anyway and my work's slow and unproductive. My social life is also just forced and a chore during those hours.

For a person like me that has total control over my own day [i'm lucky, i run my own job], is there a reason not to try to nap 20 minutes post lunch?

Been using CU for a long time. I run on org with <10 people. If you do too, please read.

This is what i've learned on using ClickUp.

But each advice get increasingly less obvious.

No promotion, hope this helps.

1. Most people can be guests. No need to create new members for everything.

2. You can disable the slop

The AI stuff, or generally features you don't need. Disable them.

3. Create 1 mega Loom video to teach CU to new members / guests

I used to add people to my CU and:

1. Have a call with them to teach them

2. Link a playlist of tutorial to learn clickup, from public yt videos

Takes too long and they won't watch or learn what's needed.

Now i have 1-3 10-minute looms and they get the job done.

Most of them need to learn:

- what a task is

- statues

- activity (comments)

- notifications

- descriptions

- customf ields if necessary

Rarely i NEED to have them learn all the features. Like basically never.

4. Stop over-tasking

I used to create one main task and then try to create every possible sub task for every single little step of the process.

Most of the time is unnecessary slop and people don't look at it. And it takes too long.

If the task says "do this post and post it", most people understand that the steps are canva, exporting, publishing via Meta, closing task.

Unless you work with dummies, this should be good enough.

5. ClickUp won't fix bad business

By bad business I just mean you being a bad manager.

Clickup won't fix that. I'm saying this cause i was a bad manager myself.

I was expecting clickup to magically amke everyone productive. I created some many requirements and stupid little processes that my guys were spending 1-2 hours a day managinc clickup instead of actually doing the work.

Let them work.

6. Be fucking consistent

I bet you can relate:

1. you use clickup, you get organised.

2. you start working

3. you stop updating clickup

4. clickup is out of sync, your productivity and team clarity goes down

5. you say "guys, we arent using clickup enough"

6. loop restarts

Just use the thing. you're paying for it

Hi, so. Every time I need to connect the ClickUp API I need to regenerate the toke, which breaks all my automations. I cannot create multiple keys and manage them better? WHY???

These are important. I've been with Squarespace for YEARS. And these are still issues and they are very basic fixes.

For context, I made hundreds of thousands of euros on my site. These are crucial

1. Checkout for one-time purchase for pricing plans

Pricing plan checkout button says "Buy subscription" for payment plans even (in the Italian version) even if the transaction is one-time. I don't even want to think about how much money I left on the table due to the misleading wording. I let assistance know several times in the last YEARS. Never fixed.

2. Site admin doesn't get notified when access gets expanded or reduced for collaborators

One employee of mine was suddenly able to access something they should not have access to. I wasn't notified of this change.

3. Website editor role is incomplete

They can't:

- set custom code for header injection

- change page NAMES. THEY CANT CHANGE PAGE NAMES. Or slugs.

- edit the design [like the brand colors]. Which is crazy.

The only way to give them access to these things is to add them as admins which I won't do because I don't want them to also access financial information.

I let customer care know many times about this, YEARS AGO and multiple times, and no action has been taken as far as I can tell. Improvement is there on the product in general, but there are some basic issues which need to be fixed otherwise I can't honestly manage my site properly.

NOTE: i used to have 2 site with squarespace. Now i only have one. I already switched to claude code for the one i canceled.

My questions:

1. I feel like I have no time

I need approx. 9 hours of sleep to perform. I also want to go to the gym, cook my own food and do cardio daily. I feel like not enough time's left for actual work (which is the most important thing for me after health). When time for windown comes, it's frustrating and I want to keep working. Every day i reluctalcly stop.

How to solve? Should I reduce gym or stop cooking for myself? Is it just perception?

2. How to increase adherence

My PR for perfect streak of sleep, gym, diet was 50 days. I broke it due to travel (traveling ruins everything). Also, even at day 40, alcohol, fast food and vapes (all things i quit earlier this year) still are tempting. Very.

Any advice to reduce temptation and increase adherence?

ClickUp has improved a bit. I'm fast to critique them but also fast to notice improvements.

1. The gantt view is now a bit better, faster and more interactive and predictable.

2. The AI stuff is easier to hide now, even if the setting is kinda buried

3. It feels a bit faster now compared to 4-5 months ago

I am new-ish to agent game.

I am paying 80-90 bucks a day across different tasks, especially coding, and some autonomous work related to upkeep of a server.

I use Opus 4.8 for almost all the coding stuff.
I switched to Grok (they allow subscription use) but it isn’t even half as good as opus for coding, and grok 4.5 isn’t available in the EU yet.

I’d lower the cost by a lot if i was able to use the Anthropic sub. instead of the extra usage or API.

I understand 80 bucks is cheap, but I an small business owner and I want to optimise a bit.

Any ideas?

Stuff i noticed that should not be an issue in a company like clickup.

1. reordering HELL

Reordering SUBTASKS is absolute hell. It hits like 10% of the time. I cant reorder without nesting as sub-subtask unintentionally, it’s like a pixel perfect challenge that makes me look like an idiot when i share my screen. This one of the most important, basic fixes that are necessary now.

2. selling ai to me

stop it. This is supposed to he a professional tool. For companies. My employees see the ai features and i look like i dont care about them having the best features. Which is of course untrue, we just dont need it. It also looks bad when i share my screen on calls and i get a banner or stuff like that. I saw that they removed the popups, which is great, but i believe that a professional tool needs to look clean, not like it’s asking for money at every corner

3. speed

i am pro user, i use it for hours every day. I know exactly where things are, but slowness and my next two points punish me for being a fast user. I feel like the app can’t go “as fast as me”, and my connection or device aren’t the issue

4. unsaved progress

sometimes i add many tasks or subtasks quickly. Despite my connection being solid, like really solid, stuff sometimes just… isnt saved.

or another one, sometimes clickup’s backend does’t sync with the frontend. So i may duplicate a task, change its name, then the name actually goes back to the initial post-duplication name.

Issues like these are common on both the list view (unacceptable as it is the main view) and the gantt view

5. moving stuff

i’d like to have access to something that updates me on what features that i use often are changed. Like when they changed the assign comment button location, i thought they removed it.

Or when they removed the task tray feature thing, replacing it with the favourites.

Conclusion

most of us use clickup and love it for what it used to be. Maybe new users love the new stuff, but we don’t.

And there’s gonna come a day when the cost of keeping clickup vs the cost of switching (or vibe coding our own) are gonna tip over in favour of switching.

I also noticed some of their emails are clearly vibe coded (html stuff) with ai (claude). I use ai too, nothing wrong with it, but it makes me wonder what their priorities are since they didnt even bother to clean the look of email and fix the vibe coded look.
