Tips and advice for MSPI specific bottle feeding please.

Short history of my 3.5 month old:

Brest fed baby with tongue tie (sorted) and high pallet/poor latch.

Initially diagnosed with reflux (thought to be latch based).

Gaviscon, tried without success -> Omeprazole started at 2months, still on it now - Helps with elements of the reflux.

From 2.5 months, Stool becomes mucusy and back arching continues.

Will only nap upright, will only brestfeed lying down

We have in the last month staretd the MSPI pathway, mum has eliminated Milk for the last 4 weeks, soy for the last 2 weeks.

We were prescribed Hydrolised formula, tried for a week with no success. Paused for a week symptoms improved. Tried again, symptoms worsened.

Then prescribed Neocate, today is the first day.

I am dad, I am trying to bottle feed (to take some pressure off), but really struggling.

I have been attempting bottle feed with Expressed Breast Milk, from early on, then with the Hydrolised, and now with the Neocate.

My daughter has developed a strong aversion to the bottle. Whever I search for bottle feeding advice, there are the standard techniques of paced feeing etc etc. I feel that with the aversion ilnked to reflux/MSPI and the use of Neocate I might need some more specialist advice. Mum is primarily breast feeding, but we are trying to move to bottle.

Do you have any non-standard strategies that worked?

How safe is it to use non-alcohol vanilla essance?

I see conflicting advice about 'fading' vs not mixing expressed milk with Neocate?

Is it better for Dad to feed away from Mum, or better for Mum to 'stealth feed' during a breast feed?

Im at a bit of a loss, so any advice is welcomed.

Oh no. I have begun

After being enticed by this sub, I bought a UV 365nm torch and taken to the charity shops in the UK.

I am concerned where this will lead.

Educational question, in good faith: How are we defining Nazi Ideology?

I was recently reading the post on the Russia-Ukraine war, regarding the problem with Nazism in Ukraine.

Some commenters are asserting that NATO are essentially Nazis, or the EU are Nazis. My gut instinct is that this is because they are currently antagonistic with modern Russia, formerly a ML-socialist state.

Is there any better political theory someone could point me to that describes fascism in general or national-socialism in particular that relies on Marxist or Leninist teaching? I am more sceptical with regards to the Stalinist view on this, but I am open to being reasoned with.

Put simply, should these equivalences be left unchallenged, or is this work by bad faith partisans?

Edit. To add, I am not trying to defend the institution or record of NATO or EU, but I think the association is incorrect and unhelpful discourse for framing conversations about capitalism and socialism

It's tindr. But for rebels and revolutionaries to find people who share their versions of the revolution, to team up with

By the way, DM me if you want to start a revolution and want to see a "state competitor - pro infrastructure building society" I'll send over my 140 character manifesto

Edit,

A few people have called me a fed. We don't really have that over here, you might call me a spook. But I'm not nearly that cool.

I've also realised from some of the DMs that this would need to be more like LinkedIn, to create groups and introductions with vouching.

Every country has a square km with no laws.

This square is heavily walled off, with only a handful of entry/exit points.

Everyone has to register to enter, with checks to make sure it's strictly voluntary.

Once you're inside, do whatever you want.

Also there are vending machines to rent/buy items that are illegal to bring in / out like drugs and weapons.

The facility is funded by the pay per view live stream cameras set up inside.

Is the phrase "we're pregnant" disrespectful?

There was a post on another thread asking why people use this phrase. This led to some less than wholesome responses. I was interested in your thoughts.

Edit . I didn't do the original post, I just faced the backlash. My view:

Some partners say "we" to indicate their recognition of their responsibilities and to signal that outward commitment to fulfil them. Naturally women have to do the biological parts which are significantly more taxing and risky, but there should be an expectation on men to support as best as they can. The word "we" just indicates " you're not alone"

Follow up edit. I'm not looking for advice for me ( I have 2 kids and 1 snip). When we were expecting, my language mirrored my wife and was respectful and led by her. This post was more of an academic appraisal, not a call for permission.

Should synthetic specimens be excluded from mineral collections

My daughter (4yo) is getting into a rock collection, and I am here for that.

So far we have a good number of the "entry level" minerals that you might buy from a tourist shop. It's good fun, she loves it, there's a bit of learning going on too.

Today I took her to a wand making workshop, which included a "magic gem". I was told it's opalite, which I understand to be synthetic glass.

My question is: does the fact that it is man made mean it is not a "real" mineral? Would a serious collector (not 4yo) discard such a gemstone? Or does the fact that it is pretty and has a well defined chemical structure mean that it does have an inherent appeal?

I'm watching "the unchosen" on netflix thinking this could happen here and you wouldn't know unless you lived next door.

I know there are a few "eco villages" and "intentional communities" with elements of collective farming. But I want to know if there is one with a "no one in/out" rule.
