June Insertion buddies?

Hey all , anyone else have theirs inserted the first week of June? I'm coming up on a month. The first 2 weeks I didn't bleed at all. I actually started my period on schedule but have not stopped bleeding. It's down to a very light flow. I can use a panty liner and I only see blood if I wipe.

I'm very over it already but know we have to give it time. I haven't been able to touch my partner in the last 2 weeks and it's driving me insane. When I feel like the bleeding will stop , I get a good 24 hours and then it's back. Hopefully it stops soon. If it doesn't I will get it removed during my BiSalp surgery in August. I truly can't do this daily.

Wanted to start a thread so we could keep up with each other and if it gets better in the next 3-6 months

The Older generation 😮‍💨

Y'all I work in tech. I get calls from various age groups of all ethnicities and all that.

These old folks. Particularly non black old folks , cannot comprehend that a woman is their technician or is the one coming to fix their computer. When I'm not in the office but working remote and they call me , most of them ask me to transfer them to IT . I have to answer my phone like "thanks for calling such and such , this is *my name* and I will be your IT technician. I've had many of them glaze over that and ask that I transfer them to IT. If not they will bring it up throughout the call that they want IT. These people are not hard of hearing either.

I'm just venting. I know with many of them they believe jobs are gendered so getting a lady , particularly a black lady is not on their bingo card. It's frustrating because me and the other ladies are the only ones getting these type of calls or encounters. Never the men at my job of course. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Honestly, I just want to be selfish

Frankly speaking , I just want my body to myself. I haven't had a baby or been pregnant in 11 going on 12 years. I think once a kid hits 10 years old and no sibling has occurred it's more than fine to assume there won't be another.

I love sleeping in late , our preteen is very vocal about not wanting a sibling. He doesn't want to share anything. People actually think I'm crazy for getting his opinion on this. He would literally have to adjust to a sibling and I think it's fair to get his thoughts on adding people to the household. I don't ever want to be pregnant again and I don't want a newborn crying baby interrupting sleep , sex , alone time or me time. I don't want to be pawed at until they are school age.

I also like to spend my extra funds on me or the kiddo. We also love to randomly go places and packing up a baby is not something I want to entertain.

I'm very blunt about this to relatives and friends. Friends have no issue but older folks believe kids need "siblings". I don't share this belief and will be telling anyone that asks about a baby to have it themselves. That's it. That's the post.

Good hydroxyurea stories ?

Hello family , can you all share some positive stories on hydroxyurea? I'm starting it tomorrow and am a little nervous.

Preface , my sickle cell has worsened and I've been dealing with the fall out of acute chest syndrome and have 2 blood clots. One in each arm now. They are minor but I definitely feel like my body has reached the point of needing a little more help managing. I exercise and take very good care of myself, but of course our illness can be unpredictable. Anyways I have SS type and would like to hear from y'all.

What time do you take it? Doc recommended it with dinner. What was the first week and month like? What can I expect? I know we are all different. Just want some reassurance ❤️ thank y'all in advance.

Blood thinner Periods are the final Boss of hell next to Satan himself

I just need to vent and whine. I've always had heavy periods and developed Endo in my mid twenties. I'm use to the pain and suffering or so I thought.

Had to start blood thinners for some blood clots. Holy freaking tortured uteruses set on fire is this pure hell! It's twice as heavy and twice as painful.A solid 8 days of bullshit. It's so bad I had to start buying overnight pads to go into my super heavy period panties. I will also have to whip out my menstrual cup.

My ob had to reschedule my IUD appointment so I have to deal with hell period this month. I'm sure I would have had to regardless but I'd felt better knowing that I've already had my IUD inserted and just need to wait out the adjustment.

Made some turkey, lentil, rice stew and am waiting to get off work so I can go lay down and cry. Lol. I'll probably talk hubs into ordering some candy or a sweet treat. I need it.

Edited to add : Already asked hemo doctor to lower the dose around that time of the month. Due to the nature of the clotting issue he can't and would like to wait in my gyno to do the IUD. 🥺😭

Xarelto is giving me the blues

Especially after it peaks. I take mine with breakfast as I may skip dinner at times.

After it peaks hours later , I have the WORST chest , shoulder , and arm pain. I can't sleep unless I take pain killers. My arms feel like they are on fire , and my chest and back start hurting. The only time I feel normal is right before the next dose early in the morning. I feel great but will be on this for the next few months. I'm been using a heated blanket everyday to ease the aches and pains but it is frustrating. I've spent 30 plus years dealing with pain although not daily.

My doctor wants me to stay on the xarelto cause of the DVTs in both arms. I'm trying not to take my pain killers so much because they'll flare my liver but this is booty cheeks. Xarelto has caused me nothing but constant muscle aches , pains , and sleep disruption. I wish there was a better way to handle all types of clotting. Months and life long use of this stuff is for the birds.

Hello everyone. I am newly diagnosed and have been put on Xarelto. I'm actually surprised by my diagnosis. I really don't know how to feel about it.

One dvt in my left arm where I get my IVs , and another is in my right arm ,super close to my wrist. Im right handed and I'm terrified of crocheting again. I don't want to make anything worse. I have sickle cell anemia and have never had a blood clot before. I know my illness can cause them but I've been relatively symptom free for most of my life. I really just came looking for support. Being on a blood thinner is scary for some odd reason , and I've had emergency surgeries and hospital stays.

Not sure why it gives me so much anxiety but here I am. I hope it clears up soon. I'll be on xarelto for the next few months. I just wanted to say hello and ask if any one else was anxious but now you're doing better? How's life? Did you get back to normal? Just trying not to be so in my head about it.

Shalom all ,

I'm really feeling the pressure to throw a bar mitzvah for son. As I didn't have a bat mitzvah (I still low key want one as an adult) due to finances and living away from our Jewish community , I at least want one for him.

I have a good 2 years to plan this but realistically money is gonna be tight. Dumb question, but can I just have an at home thing? I priced rabbis and tutors in my area and It's a bit pricey to have a tutor or a rabbi teach him plus show up the day of the event.

For those who had a more intimate party or a small event , or parents who can't afford the synagogue and the extra teaching, what did you all do??

So I've been off and on slynd for over 5 years. Now I will say I do have sickle cell and have been predisposed to clotting. I've never had a blood clot before now.

So after about a year hiatus from slynd (I had some extreme medical issues and had to come off everything to find the issue) and I started it back in January.

Everything seemed fine and my CT scan in December was clear of issues. None of the medical problems were clots , dvt , or Pulmonary embolism, as again , I had never had them.

By late February I started feeling tightness in my arms and developed chest pain. In March it all worsened and I developed acute chest syndrome. I went to the hospital and they did a CT and an Ultrasound of my arms. I had developed blood clots. The doctor on duty explained to me while rare , drosperinone (slynd) still put me at risk for clots and that it does have a chance to create clotting. My medical issues didn't help either.

I will say that getting back on it I did also develop a lot of the harsher side affects this time. Acne , fatigue , tender breast , depression, panic attacks , I felt angry. I had no experience with this before but I didn't expect this. I also developed a weird chest pain after about week 2 back on it fully. I came off of it because of the clotting and have never felt better. All those other symptoms stopped as well including that dull ache in my chest.

I honestly don't think the clinical trials included a lot of people with my illness and I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this as well? I feel alone at times because all doctors said it's "better" because no estrogen and progestin only doesn't risk clotting. I double checked their website and found exactly what my Dr found. So I can no longer be on it. I'm now on blood thinners to rid both arms of the clots. Just also wanted to warn anyone else.
