Just picked up some extension tubes (36mm) and used them with my 24-120 f/4 on my Nikon Z5II.
For sure nothing special, but really has me thinking I should just get the 105mm macro Z lens, haha.
All single frames edited in LR.
Looking to hear from anyone who has experience with both of these lenses. I’m wanting to pick up a macro lens but $1000+ for the 105 is a tad much if it’s not significantly better than the $700 Tamron. I’m only interested in the Macro capabilities as I have other lenses that cover their focal length for other shooting.
I’ve been into photography for forever, SLRs, DSLRs, and now on a Nikon Z5ii. I usually do aviation, sports, wildlife, etc. I’m now finding myself with less time to get to events like that to take photos so I’m looking for something I can do right in my own backyard.
Just wondering where to start for kit. Is the Nikon 105mm Macro lens a good place to start? Or for less money and more “capability” with some automated features missing, is something like the Laowa Aksen 45mm 1-5x an okay lens? 1:1 does interest me, but I also love the super close macro shots as well.
And I haven’t used flashes in years so I don’t even know what to look for as far as something that would work for macro/burst shooting for focus stacking.
Sorry if this is a common topic but appreciate any input. Thanks!
Sitting here just starring at my brand new Calander 2 “trying to connect”.
This is beyond ridiculous. Anyone have any tricks to get this thing to connect. It’s a dedicated 2.4ghz band.
EDIT: Resolved. Took a factory reset which is weird because it was brand new and the first set up, but that’s what solved it.
When Xbox One was announced, they knew “all digital” was coming. They wanted to be ahead of the game, they wanted to allow people to be able to sell back their digital copies, but the internet lost its shit because the console would have to do a “check in” for internet connectivity once every 24 hours.
Well here we are 13 years later, your consoles are always online now anyways, and everyone is upset and making a big deal that they can’t sell back a digital version of a game.
“So yes, the market has spoken and the Internet won today. The forces that would have changed the way your gaming discs worked were rebuffed and forced back by sheer will. But in another way, we all lost the potential to see whatever Microsoft’s vision of the digital future actually was. Instead in all likelihood, we’ll eventually get a digital future that looks a lot like the digital present—only without any discs at all.”
This quote from an article I dug up is pretty spot-on. It’s no one’s fault but our own.
Did a 3 night trip with my wife and myself. We stayed at Portofino with two park days. In 2023 it cost $2283. For the exact same trip, same days (first full week in December, tues-fri), in 2026 the cost is $4536. Double the price in just 3 years.
I knew Epic would drive prices up a bit but I wasn’t expecting that. Gonna be awhile before I get back there I fear.
Just a quick one I got at the zoo the other day. Not sure what kind of bird this is.
I just happened to notice today that my Era 300s set up as rear surrounds only have audio come from the top firing speakers and no sound coming from the front facing speakers. Is this as intended? I thought I remember sound coming out the front when I first set it up.
