Im bored of my usual. I typically do garlic, ginger, brown sugar, soy, sesame oil and a little Sriracha over tofu/veggies/rice. I want to expand and try different things. Thai curries, vietnamese, anything really besides my boring white people asian food flavors haha give me your best!!
Disclaimer: I'm vegetarian so fish sauces etc wont work for me unfortunately
Im in Nova Scotia, Canada. Ive been working on patching up some dead spots in my lawn. I have 2 female golden retrievers and their pee is awful for the grass. We try to rinse their pee as it happens, but some spots end up getting missed. Ive tried several types of seed, including clover, to see what would stick best.
This area in particular is close to our deck and gets trampled a ton from the dogs. I imagine the soil is pretty compacted here and it seems like nothing will take.
Are the dark spots rotting dead grass/seed? Is the ground too wet? Or too compacted? Is this a dog pee problem? Is it harmful to the dogs? Is it some sort of mold/fungus/disease? It seems like theres a ton of bugs flying around the areas where this dark stuff is.
From what I'm reading I'm considering mixing some sand into the soil, would this help?
Give me your best laundry hacks. I suck at all parts of it. My sheets are wrinkly and full of lint. I have adhd and forget the sheets in the dryer for eons and by the time I go back its a wrinkly mess. Its embarrassing. I dont wanna be like this.
Hacks I'm looking for (but really I'm open to anything):
- Lint
- Tiny hairs that seem woven in
- Wrinkles (especially once its already happened)
- Oil stains
- Folding it better or quicker(?) I have short arms. All my folded sheets are messy looking.
Give me your best solutions. I hate laundry.
Hi pals. Im a skater of yesteryear attempting to return to practices after many years of leave. I have since come out as non-binary. I loved wearing leggings so I didnt road rash (floor rash...?) my legs. What do men or non-binary(etc) folks wear on their legs these days? I usually wear shorts at the gym but I'm not certain about how skidding my nude skin along the ground will make me feel. Pants? Dude-leggings? Or have you found shorts are fine?
Im fully booked with a wait list at my usual clinic job but I'm trying to start a side hustle and struggling to gain clients. (The two locations are far enough I cant convince many of my clinic regulars to make the switch).
For those working solo or clinic owners - what's the best most cost effective way to gain new clients? I have Facebook, tiktok, Instagram. I have direct billing, online booking. Ive had mixed results with meta ads and google ads look expensive. Ive tried offering promos, doing mail outs and nothing. Im burning money at this point. I know its not a skill issue, I have 12 year experience, lots of extra courses and a fully stacked client load. But how do I get the clients?
Anywhere selling these in the city?
The original pot I bought it in had no drainage and some awful glued together gravel on top. I repotted it into another container and it dropped all its leaves.

Should I just wait? Will they come back? Anything I should/shouldn't be doing? I'm watering it super rarely. Theres still lots of green at the ends of the branches and a few leaves sprouting, but its sad lookin.
I have 2 golden retrievers. Poppy is 3 and the sweetest gentle emotional little being. We loved her so much we got a second from the same breeder and she is a menace. We love her but shes a little hyper tornado. Tornados name is Juniper and shes 1 and a bit.
An example of Junipers energy - she recently got spayed. Day before the spay we sent her to doggy daycare to rip around, play in the pool, get all the zoomies out. (Not a regular thing for them). Afterwards Poppy could barely drag herself outta there because she was so exhausted from all the fun and Juniper was just... normal. Gave her evening sedatives and morning before her spay..... bring her into the vet and shes still hyper and embarrassing. Nothing slows her down. Not a full day of exercise. Not meds. Nothing.
The problem is I am an RMT (massage therapist) creating a relaxing massage space on the bottom floor of my house. And when I'm down there I cant seem to stop the barking. Ive tried treat toys (pupsicles), walking them beforehand, white noise, lots of toys, i put on bluey for them to watch, I feel like ive tried everything I can think of. I have a neighbour that will sometimes watch them for me while im working but shes not always available.
Poppy didnt even know how to bark before we got Juniper. Literally never made a peep. Now Juniper is barking at everything, but sometimes also nothing 🤷
What advice do you have? Love the dogs but the barking is a lot, especially when I'm not in the room with them and able to interrupt it. The dogs have some basic training but maybe we need to get a trainer?
Photos of daycare zoomies for proof haha
Halfway through the trial / challenges phase but starting to feel a bit crazy with the repetitive meals and always having to cook. I usually make a tofu/green pepper/peanut stir fry and eggs and potatoes on repeat. I have lactose free greek yogurt as a snack and one type of granola bar I found online thats low fodmap. I've got a few types of crackers/chips and popcorn I eat. I've done tempeh tacos a couple times with corn tortillas. I'm getting so over doing this but I know I have to push through. I feel like I'm going to be malnourished soon if I don't mix it up. Things I'd love some help with:
I'm about to have a really busy week and I'm dreading the fact that I know I'm going to default to the same easy meals over and over again because I don't have much time to spend searching up every ingredient in things.
What are you all making? helppp
Im in the planning stages of opening a multidisciplinary clinic. One of the key things I'd like to establish for my business is inclusivity of everyone. I am an LGBTQ+ person so I deeply understand that side of things, however as a white person I know I can't possibly understand what its like to be a POC or especially an immigrant in a new country. I say this because I live in an increasingly diverse neighbourhood (in Atlantic Canada) and a lot of my clients will be new Canadian families.
If you are POC, someone with immigrant experience, or from a different culture, religion, background, etc, what do you look for in a space that signals safety? What do you look for in a clinic or practitioner? Are there any protocols or small things that would make life easier? Even little things!! I wanna know!
