Hints

My neighbour's kid keeps leaving his bicycle by my doorstep. I honestly don't have a problem with it. However, what hints are these I'm being given by the universe 🤔

City Hall Clock Tower

I pass here often and it never occurred to me to take a picture of this tower. These colonial structures have a very striking look.

Breakfast 🍳

Decided to fully stuff myself this morning with a double cheese burger. Although I only had one patty & an egg. My cats are also stuffing themselves on some omena. By the way, what's the best bread for burgers? I've been using the Festive buns, but they've also become light. The buns break down rather easily.

Mchezo ya Taon!!

I can't remember the last time I bought meat at a regular butchery. Cleanshelf or Naivas all the way. If not, KMC in tao. When I lived in South B, always bought my meat from Somalis. They are very honest with these things.

Ugenya Fiddich

There's a local in my shags where I go for liquor. Yesterday I discovered they also sell Ugenya Fiddich on the side. For those who are uninformed, Ugenya Fifdich is chang'aa. It's also called achwaka. Ugenya is renowned for producing good chang'aa. This was a single for 50 bob. I was honestly bemused. Cos yo!! Ilikuwa mingi 😂😭. I could only muster that one nikaendelea na Captain Morgan yangu. You take two singles and that's it for your drinking excursions.

The Village Life

Napanga kuhamia huku and once I do, I don't think Nairobi will see me again unless I have to use JKIA.

Cheese Everywhere!!

By now I'm sure it's clear to some of you that I absolutely love cheese and pasta. Yani, it's a staple in my house. If I ever get married, she better know that this is the standard. We are going to Italy to learn more about Italian food. My other cat Jinx was staring menacingly.

Bathroom

Gents, & ladies too, what do your bathrooms look like? Have pimped them out ama they are just as normal as when you found them when you moved into that crib? My landlord did a good job with this bathroom. The 🚿 should be at the end after the 🚽, not vice versa like I keep seeing in a lot of houses.

Damn it 🤦🏾‍♂️

If there's one thing us guys from the Western part of this country need, it's an alternative way of traveling back home en masse. Buses aren't it and neither are personal cars nor flights. In fact the latter is just too expensive.

The increase in fare prices by Ena Coach was expected. In fact I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. And to think I was planning on going to shags at the end of the month. But haidhuru, lazima tu safiri nyumbani liwe liwalo.

That SGR train should have been extended to Malaba during Uhuru's tenure. That it didn't happen was a great injustice to a section of Kenyans that dread using the highway to Eldoret & Kisumu.

2k to Mombasa is a tad bit too expensive. I'll just go by train.

Frauds

As someone who voted for Raila multiple times, I can see why he lost a lot of times. He always had the wrong people around him giving him the wrong advice. Mr. Makau Mutua over here is a great example of those wrong advisors.

This guy should have just remained in the States writing his articles in the Sunday Nation about better governance in Kenya. I guess you really live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

Now the idiot is in government & giving out unsolicited advice. That Ol Kalou by-election is a big deal. When you see people like these quick to dismiss the outcome, know they are scared. Despite everything the current government did to win including voter bribery, intimidation & the use of masked goons, it lost and lost badly. Only a fool would dismiss yesterday's result as a one off & think it doesn't affect Kasongo. Wantam will be a reality, one way or another.

Lunch

My mum is around & she wanted something to eat. I was like, "I got you mum". Worry not. NB: I love potatoes. They've become my staple. I see why my Mt. Kenya people are in love with potatoes. Living in Kikuyu makes them a necessity.
