Should I sell my modded PS Vita & 3DS to buy an Ayn Thor even when I have a modded Switch 1 & ROG Ally?

Hi everyone,

I have a modded PS Vita, a modded New Nintendo 3DS XL, a modded Switch 1, a ROG Ally, and a high-end gaming PC.

I'm thinking of maybe selling thr PS Vita & 3DS to buy the Thor, but jot sure if it even makes sense to.

As for the PS Vita, the reality is that I never use it. I bought it cause I thought it was cool, but I was never a fan of the PSP or PS Vita library.

The 3DS I do use more often, but not much. I do like DS & 3DS games a lot though.

How well does the Thor actually emulate DS & 3DS games? Also, my Switch 1 can also emulate anything that's not a GameCube or PS2, and if I need something beefy like Wii U, I use the ROG Ally. I dont like using the ROG Ally as much though because it's heavy, especially after doing a 74wh battery mod on it. I mainly use my gaming PC for anything the ROG Ally can run.

Tips for installing 74wh battery mod so that it fits in the case

Hi everyone,

I did the battery mod where you add the shield in the back at this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMfuyaZbY5s&t

However, this made it so that it's too thick to actually sit flush and allow me to close the back case.

Does anyone have any recommendations for still being able to dissipate the heat while not adding so much thickness?

Moved to new city 7 months ago & I still haven't found a job.

I have 7 months of experience working in OB/GYN. I've applied to every posting that's available in my city, general & specialty, and I haven't been getting any call backs & just a bunch of automated rejection emails or nothing at all.

Is the job market just bad, or is there anything I can do to stand out & get hired? It's incredibly frustrating not getting a single call back & just hit with automated messages. Ive been working a part-time job in the meantime, but it's not anything healthcare related.

Need Help: 74Wh Battery Mod Worked Perfectly for Months, Now It Won't Charge Unless I Remove the Back Cover

I did the 74Wh battery mod and installed Bazzite on my ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. Everything worked perfectly for months, but recently I've started having a strange charging issue.

No matter which charger I use, including the original ASUS charger, the device often refuses to charge properly.

Normally, when it's plugged in, the battery icon shows the charging symbol along with the battery percentage (I have the percentage enabled). Instead, one of two things happens:

  • The charging LED turns on, but the battery icon shows as completely full with the charging symbol, and the battery percentage disappears.
  • The charging LED turns on, but the battery icon doesn't indicate that it's charging at all.

The really strange part is that the only thing that consistently fixes it is removing the back cover.

After taking the back cover off, the Ally won't power on by itself. I have to plug the charger in first, then power it on. Once I do that, it charges normally again, but only for a while. Before long, the charging issue returns.

Also, doing an EC reset (holding power for 40 seconds) doesn't fix it either, only removing the back cover.

I've also removed the battery completely & put it back in, but again, it only fixed it for a bit due to the back cover being removed.

One thing that may or may not be related is that, ever since I installed the 74Wh battery, the back cover has never fully closed. The bottom edge doesn't clip in completely and there's always been a small gap. This has been the case since the day I installed the battery, and it never caused any charging issues until now, so I'm not sure if it's related or just a coincidence.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know what might be causing this? Is this more likely to be an issue with the battery connector, the battery itself, or something else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you need to create a new world with the 1.0 release?

When the game releases to v1.0, will you need to create a new world save, or can you continue playing on your existing one without issues?

Tried playing Elder Scrolls: BOTSE. Although I like it, I don't think this game is for me.

So I finally learned how to play Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era (got about 15 hrs of playtime), but I'm a bit sad that I don't love it.

Don't get me wrong, I do think it's a really good game, but I think for me I don't like the amount of rules the game has. I understand the core gameplay loop, but it's a bit annoying having to constantly be broken out of the flow to reference the rulebook for something, such as edge cases & keywords. I also don't know how often I would truly play it considering how massive it is & just how much table space it takes up. I have a 60in x 30in table, and it's still not enough space for everything comfortably.

I was also excited to play it with my wife, but after trying it she also wasn't interested due to how complex it was.

I'm a bit conflicted because I do like it a lot, but I'm not sure if heavy games with a ton of rules are for me. I do like games with a lot of depth, but to me I feel like this game just has a lot of complexity that is a bit unnecessary & makes it less enjoyable.

What are your guys' thoughts on what I'm saying? Also, would I not enjoy Mage Knight based on what I said?

EDIT: Decided to return the game, which I'm sad about.😢😪

Trying to learn Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, but it's taking forever..

This is my first time ever attempting to play a game this big, & it's taking me a really long time, even with the Dized app.

I want to learn it since everyone races about it online, but it's taking me a couple of days & so much procrastinating to get to it. I'm not sure if a game like this is for me. So far, it seems like it would be fun, but there are so many rules, I'm not sure how I would even remember them all when I'm actually playing without the tutorial.

I'm not sure if I should continue or just give up. I'm afraid that the effort won't be worth it.

How long did it take you to actually start playing it & enjoy it?

Saw a new doctor & they didn't want to refill my stimulants

Went to see a new doctor for the first time since I moved to a new state. It wasn't a psychiatrist, but rather a general practitioner over Zoom. Told them my situation & how I was out of my meds & needed a refill & I had the prescription paperwork, but they said they couldn't do it since it was a controlled substance. I now have to see someone else in person to hopefully get a new script.

Is this normal or yet another "ADHD meds at bad & I dont want to be the one prescribe them"?

Need a cheap provider to get a script refill without insurance. Any suggestions on platforms?

I just moved to Colorado from another state a couple of months ago. The meds I had are about to run out and I need to find a new provider.

Is there any platforms out there or tips to finding a provider that can refill my meds without it costing an arm & a leg since I don't have insurance?

I just need a med refill. I don't really care at the moment to have a great psychiatrist since I've been stable on my meds, so when I would see my old one we would just talk for 15 mins and he'd send me on my way.

Essential mods for a first ever playthrough to modernize the game?

It's going to be my first ever full play through of the game. I'm looking for mods that are essential quality-of-life improvements to game. I've tried to play it before recently but stopped since it felt clunky, so would love some mods to modernize it.

What are the essential mods? Mainly looking for QOL, UI, & textures to make the game look better.

Looking for a clean minimal theme that works with the latest firmware & atmosphere version.

I like minimal, and also for it to be "offline" theme.

I want to experience a grand adventure, but I'm new to board games.

As the title says, I want to experience something larger with more depth. I'm new to board games, and I played Mini Rogue, which I LOVED, but I felt like it was lacking a lot of depth.

I would like to experience maybe something similar but with more depth & complex mechanics. I've played a lot of video games, so I love the feeling of leveling up, etc.

I've seen the new Elder Scrolls game, but it seems like the complexity of that may be too intense.

I'm not sure what to start with.

EDIT: I've played Slay the Spire & liked it a lot, but I ended up returning it since for that specific game I'd rather just play the video game.

Why play solo board games instead of video games?

Disclaimer: I recently got into solo board gaming, so I guess I'm also trying to figure out this question for myself. This isn't me trying to sh*t on people for playing board games solo, just trying to understand people's thoughts.

Why do you play board games solo instead of playing a video game solo? I feel like often times a video game can give you a much grander experience. You also don't have to mentally track a lot of different components since the computer does most of it for you.

I'm just trying to understand the appeal of playing a board game solo instead of just playing a video game.

Looking for something like Mini Rogue

I'm new to board games. I recently played Mini Rogue & loved it. What I loved about it was having the board & using the cubes to track my stats, and I really love the video game-like theme.

I'm looking for more games like. More specifically, I want to feel a sense of adventure in the game I play. I liked that it felt like an adventure & I was working toward something.

For reference, I just played Kinfire Delve: Callous' Lab & LotR Trick-Taking Game and I though both were major FLOPS.

Fired yesterday after 5 years at a job. Lost on what to do next.

I worked at a company for 5 years, and was just laid off yesterday due to performance. During the last few months, I'd been struggling with mental health & complete burn out. I decided to take a month off to work on my burnout, and when I came back I was told I was being laid off.

The truth is, before I left, I was at my complete breaking point and actually told my manager I was quitting, but then we decided to have me take an extended break instead since he wanted me on the team. This probably led to me getting laid off, but I was truly unhappy at this place for SO long & just stuck it out as long as I could while sacrificing my mental health for the paycheck. Sacrificed it enough to the point that I truly felt like there was nothing worth it in life anymore. Thankfully I remembered what happiness was from past experiences. Deep down, it's for the best that I got fired since I would have never left on my own otherwise, but still, it feels tough since I've been here for 5 years.

I'm pretty lost & stuck on what to do next. I'm a fantastic developer with ADHD, so I tend to get extremely hyper focused & get a bunch of shit done and excel at doing extremely techy stuff people hate doing. The issue is that although I'm extremely well rounded (not saying I'm the best in the world or anything, but can do full-stack, devops, infra, AI, blockchain, etc) I suck extremely bad at coding interviews due to not knowing data structures & algorithms beyond the basics, and my anxiety gets the best of me every time in interviews.

I'm mainly trying to know how tough the job market is right now, how I should proceed, and whether companies are still doing LeetCode style interviews.

I'm feeling pretty down in the dumps, but please tell me straight up what I need to hear.

How good is Command of Nature by Unstable Games?

Hey everyone,

I just bought Command of Nature since I played Here to Slay recently & LOVED it (it's my favorite board game of all time now)!

Because of this, I decided to buy a few of the other UG games. However, I've read online that for Command of Nature it's a fun game but some don't enjoy it because the different factions are too unbalanced.

I want to gather others' thoughts on the game. Is it fun & worth keeping, or should I return it?
