Babies and tv

Me and my husband are both and always have been tv kids. We always have something going in the background. While im on maternity leave ive been watching a lot of tv.

Baby is 2 months old now. She is now starting to look at/stare at the tv when its on. I know shes not technically watching it. But I think its about time to start limiting this, as we both agree we dont want to raise a baby all about screens.

I, in particular, also want to limit my screen time. But if I play a podcast on my phone as background noise, will that also effect her?

Baby songs

What are we singing to our babies?

I used to be a preschool teacher and I have forgotten all of the songs. Except for the ants go marching. Which I sang 20 times today alone.

Dramatic baby

I feel like a horrible mom for laughing, but does anyone elses baby have the most dramatic coughs/sneezes?

My daughter is 9 weeks old and she is not sick, but when clearing mucus or whatever she has the most dramatic cough. She just sneezed on my shoulder like her father. A literal scream then the quietest "-choo".

Idk what to mark this under. Im 8 weeks PP and started my period last night. Today has been absolute agony. My husband works from home, but had a lot to handle today. I sat on the floor with the baby but I feel bad. She was fed, changed regularly, and I interacted with her, but it was just a day where I was cycling her through her swing, her activity mat, propped up on a pillow in front of me so she could see me, and her crib if I needed to step away.

But this hurts so bad. How am I supposed to deal with it and be a functioning mom?

I know its deccomended baby sleep in my room for the first 6-12 months, but due to circumstances(I was in the middle of something, monitor is in her room not mine) it made more sense to lay her to sleep in her crib last night. She fell asleep at 8pm.

Guys she didnt wake up until 3:30am! This has been her longest stretch yet!

Hey guys. I have a 2 month old and I have had an over supply from the get. A typical pump I get 5-8oz. I pump every 3-4 hours. Baby eats 4oz every 2-6 hours. I have close to 360oz in the freezer now.

My dream is to not have to pump when I go back to work at the end of July. Baby will start solids shortly after and at that point I could switch to giving her the frozen milk, which she doesnt mind.

Is that possible? Is that sustainable? Id have to freeze thousands of oz, right? Would it be worth it to you?

So I have been freezing my milk in 6oz bags. My baby usually eats 4oz in a feed. If I were to take 2 bags out of the freezer to thaw, how long could they be in the fridge? Long enough that I could put those two bags together to cover 3 feeds?

I am a second time mom to a 7 week old. With my first. I was a single parent so there wasnt another option for him. But this time around, ive noticed my daughter will really only calm down (with out a bottle) with me. She loves sleeping on my chest.

In the morning and after hes done working, he will hold the baby so I can take care of things (shower, make dinner, laundry etc) but it usually ends up in her crying and he cant calm hwr down, despite doing what I do. I know it hurts his feelings a little when I take her back and she calms down immediately.

How can I help them?

Did anyone else develop a special interest during maternity leave?

Ive always liked plants. Had a few houseplants. Started maternity leave. I went from 6 house plants to 20+. Me and the baby's favorite things to do are go to the botanical garden and go to Lowe's to look at plants. I have a corner dedicated to house plants with a grow light. 2 days ago I spent 3 hours (around taking care of the baby) to adjust the humidity for my plants.

I hand knit little baby hats and can sell them for $3-$5 and make a profit. I havent sold/shipped anything yet. Should I include free shipping? If I do, do I need to raise my price?
