Thinking YouTube as an advertising platform

Wondering if anyone here uses YouTube as more of an advertising platform to drive people to their own stores, classes etc. I started a little more than a week ago and I’ve had pretty good response but could see myself going down the YouTube analytics rabbit hole very easily - who am I kidding I’m there already-but then I realized maybe I shouldn’t make it my goal to be making tons of money on YouTube, just more look at it as a free advertising platform and really work on driving people to my own stuff Etsy store etc.. Any thoughts or experience with this?

Youtubing is similar to working retail.

Have any of you all ever worked retail? It’s virtually impossible to predict what kind of business you’re going to get apart from holidays and stuff. I feel like having a YouTube channel is kind of like that.

How many Subscribers per 1000 views

I’ve been on YouTube a week and seem to be consistently getting about 25 subscribers per 1000 views. How am I doing? My videos are all 3 minutes long so far.

▲ 2 r/OCD

I have most all the categories of OCD and I didn’t realize that’s what it was until recently (I am over 50) so WOW was that a revelation! An idea came to me the other day (which I thank God for) That has really helped me. I have learned to picture all my intrusive thoughts as coming from a small cute but slightly annoying barking puppy who is looking for the treat of my obsession/compulsion/rumination whenever the little fuzzy guy is barking at me. So now when I have an intrusive thought I have the same feeling towards it as I would have towards a puppy in that situation. Like “ oh there you go again, fluffernutter- nope sorry no treats for you today you’ve had enough already now go away and play with your toys. “ I don’t know if this will help anybody but it has been really helpful for me.

Anyone ever combined oil pulling with tooth remineralizing powder? I am trying this method with coconut oil. Adding a 1/2 teaspoon of remineralizing tooth powder to a teaspoon of coconut oil thinking the oil and powder may work well together. Thoughts?
