Scratching on cards will make me go crazy!

Don’t really know what to do anymore! I love my Ridge wallet, it’s amazing for the utility and simplicity, and the fact that it snaps to the back of my phone has been so convenient. However… all my cards get scratched into oblivion within a few weeks. Not unusable, but it’s pretty irritating looking at new cards that are already ugly due to the constant scratching.

You’d think there would have been a way to fix this issue by now! But I guess there isn’t. Anybody have any solutions or ideas? Just let them get beat up?

I want to join the Coast Guard but I have an ASD diagnosis.

Sup everybody. I’m 19 years old and working on a degree at UMD in applied mathematics. I want to join the Coast Guard in an intelligence/security position after college. My grandfather was in the CG and I want to follow that path like him. However, I have an autism diagnosis in my medical record and diagnosed by a clinical psychologist. I have very mild ASD, it’s Asperger’s. I can function totally normally and don’t use accommodations, and I forget I even have ASD 99% of the time. Seriously. But I hear you need a waiver for this.

What are the chances I can pull it off?

Got all the questions done! How many have you answered?

Honestly I think it’s really important to get more contributors to research on 23andMe. If you have even 5 extra mins in your day, try to get some filled out! It’s quick and helps immensely in rolling out new traits and analyses.

Mixed Mexican-American results, some traits and pics!

Basically what I was expecting! My mom is mestiza from Sinaloa and my dad is white American with a supposed German and Belgian background. My mom’s maiden name is basque so seeing 2% basque was interesting! Let me know your thoughts, I found my results really cool.

Do I get an official diagnosis or no?

For starters/background, I’ve got autism and Tourette syndrome, both of which commonly can coincide with dysautonomia.

Years ago, I started noticing more episodes where I’d have like presyncope and my vision would go away sometimes when standing, etc. plus a lot of fatigue and lethargy in the summer that was beyond what everybody else experienced.

I went to my PCP and she did the “poor man’s TTT” and my heart rate went from 59 (laying down) to 140-150 (standing). She was mind boggled, her jaw dropped. She gave me an information packet on dysautonomia and told me to focus on salt intake and water intake during days where I feel worse. I took this as “you probably have dysautonomia but I can’t formally diagnose you.”

I keep getting presyncope and struggle with heat lethargy sometimes, but it doesn’t quite interfere with my life that much. It’s just something in the background. But I’m worried one day I’ll need an explanation to give my work when I need to lay down and take a break (my job is very physical) and I won’t have that if I stay without a diagnosis. I don’t want to be “caught lacking” lol. So… should I get a diagnosis or no? I’m just worried about price - my full heart evaluation years ago at a top cardiologist was $5k after insurance, which we can afford totally fine, but I don’t want to stress my parents out too much by making them pay that much again (I’m a teenager so I couldn’t pay alone) for the TTT.

Hello all! So I’ve been using tretinoin 0.025% every 5 nights (now every 4) for about 2 weeks or so, maybe a bit more or a bit less. Idk exactly. Anyway, about a week ago, a rather deep and inflamed pimple started forming, one of those ones you can feel under the skin even before you can see it, and over the course of like 3 days it came to the surface with a big white head. That drained overnight with a pimple patch. But then it refilled. And then another pimple patch. Refilled again. And then again last night. And I took off the pimple patch this morning and it drained a lot of fluid/pus but then you guessed it… another whitehead forming.

I really don’t know what to do anymore! It’s relentless! Do I need to go to the dermatologist or something? Or will it resolve on its own?
