Is there really no way to have a background-video property in a component?

I'm trying to create a hero component for a client, and give them the option to upload any background video. I want to create a property for background video so that they could upload it from the Build mode.

I can't figure out how to link the background video as a property so that they could just upload a file. Is there really no way to do this? There's gotta be a way.

Energy boost

I don’t care much about the ”attraction” benefits of semen retention as I’m already in a relationship, but one think I’m constantly amazed by is how much greater my baseline energy is on semen retention vs off.

The afternoon slump I would often get goes away entirely. And after the first two weeks of SR I’m actually forced to quit caffeine because all the energy from SR does not mix well with caffeine and makes me overstimulated/anxious

When I’m not practicing SR, I can handle caffeine fine because I’m always tired.

When I am practicing SR though; I get so much energy that if I don’t quit caffeine I turn into a mess.

I’ve always been very science focused and I crave to know the mechanisms of action of various phenomena.

But with SR, I feel the energy, its unmistakable. Yet I don’t know where it comes from.

Caffeine generates “fake” energy by blocking your A1 adenosine receptors. That blocks your receptors that tell you you’re tired.

Food creates energy via adenosine trosphate (ATP).

Yet, how does SR create this energy??

Does anyone else's PWM sensitivity come in the form of fatigue?

So I have two laptops, a 16in MacBook Pro (M5) and a 13in MacBook Air (M5).

What's odd is I've noticed that I get much less tired working on the MacBook Air than I do on the MacBook Pro. When I got the MacBook Pro I noticed that it makes my eyes feel dizzy but powered through.

When I looked at the specs, it seems like the MacBook Pro uses PWM with miniLED and the MacBook Air doesn't (it's an IPS display).

I don't get a headache or anything. Just this tiredness after spending more than 40 minutes on the laptop.

Wondering if anyone else's symptoms come in the form of fatigue/tiredness?

Need help regarding my relationship with my girlfriend…

Hello brothers. Need advice.

So, semen retention has been absolutely revolutionary for my life. I’m someone who’s always battled low energy and low motivation, and i can’t live without semen retention. Ive been practicing for years.

Whenever I release, I end up spending an entire week with extreme low energy and low motivation, and it takes me around 7 days to hit “okay-ish”. 20 days to hit feeling great. I first noticed this in high school, when I realized I had much more energy for studying when retaining

Right now I’m rapidly growing my business and I need every bit of energy I can get. Especially now that I have external investors backing me. When I retain, I feel so focused and ideas come naturally.

I also notice that when I retain, people are super excited by my ideas and what im building. Really helps with hiring and funding.

But when I release, I end up in this awful brain fog state for days, and I resort to heavy stimulants like Modafinil and high doses of caffeine just to get work done.

I can’t work on my business while releasing frequently.

However, a few months ago, I started dating a girl I met (we’re both 27).

She’s incredible and I love her a lot. She’s super sweet and very attractive, I have no thoughts about breaking up.

Unfortunately she‘s been getting quite upset with me lately because of my refusal to have intercourse with her. She said it makes her feel insecure and “not wanted.” Ive explained the whole thing to her and that hasn’t helped a single bit.

I’ve tried intercourse without ejaculation many times but I dont know how you guys do it. I always end up busting a nut lol. Tried the pelvic floor stuff and the deep breaking but to no avail.

I ONCE was able to not nut BUT I went to sleep with the most painful blue balls ever and the pain continued into the next day somehow, I had to release because it was unbearable.

Very open to advice!

Do most Ukrainians support freezing this war?

I have a few Ukrainian friends in the US. Recently we were talking and I asked them "if an opportunity arises to freeze this war along the current front lines (like how the Korean War "ended"), would they be in favor of it"? Suppose somehow the Russians are onboard to freeze it too.

Everyone I asked said no, because the Russians would re-group and attack again at a future date, and since Ukraine is doing well right now on the frontlines this is an opportunity to take back the stolen Ukrainian lands (Crimea). They also mentioned that life for Ukrainians under Russian occupation is difficult and not liberating them would be a betrayal. Which makes sense.

But many times opinions on these matters differs between diaspora groups vs those in the country. For those of you who are in Ukraine proper, what's the mood there? Is there a sense of unity / "we must take back our stolen land"?

If you’re worried about prostate cancer, read this.

So many of us have seen all those articles citing a study that claims ejaculating 21 times a month reduces your chance of prostate cancer.

When I read that, I got scared. Am I jeopardizing my health by practicing semen retention?

However, when I actually read the literature and the study, I calmed down. As always, media over-exaggerates the facts.

First, just a side note, the stated risk reduction was extremely small. The study claims a risk reduction of around 20%.

A man’s lifetime risk of prostate cancer is 13%. IF the study were true, then it would lower your lifetime risk of chance of getting prostate cancer from 13% to 11%.

That‘s IF the study is true (which is a stretch because of poor standardization and poor methodology in it).

However, importantly: The study only found an association between frequent ejaculation and prostate cancer for low-risk localized prostate cancers.

For fatal prostate cancers with metastasis, there was no reduction!

Per the actual study, the minor risk reduction only applied to low-risk prostate cancer. For the high-risk prostate cancer that actually does kill you, ejaculating more frequently was NOT linked to a protective effect.

Now, let’s consider this case:

There are men with medical conditions that prevents them from ever ejaculating.

One such condition is men with spinal cord injuries, who often suffer from total anejaculation (inability to ejaculate).

If the above study was true, then one would assume that this population would have higher-than-average risk of prostate cancer, right? Since they literally can’t ejaculate.

Guess what? There WAS a study done on men with spinal cord injuries who can’t ejaculate, looking at their prostate cancer risk.

And what’s shocking is, this group did NOT have an increase in prostate cancer risk.

Instead, the study showed a 50% REDUCTION in prostate cancer risk in men who can’t ejaculate.

That’s right. In fact, there were TWO strong studies that showed men with spinal cord injuries who can’t ejaculate had significantly lower prostate cancer risk. A Taiwanese study confirmed these results.

Link to study #1 showing lower prostate risk among men who can’t ejaculate: https://www.ovid.com/jnls/ajandrology/fulltext/10.4103/aja.aja_31_18~risk-of-prostate-cancer-in-men-with-spinal-cord-injury-a

Link to study #2 showing lower prostate risk among men who can’t ejaculate: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1078143913003104

Both studies looked at prostate cancer risk in men with spinal cord injury. Men with spinal cord injury very frequently suffer from total anejaculation (inability to masturbate).

Hopefully, this information puts your worries to rest.

Stay strong, brothers!

PayPal just banned my account for zero reason, and I can't issue a refund to my buyer.

Freaking out right now. I'm U.S based. I literally only use PayPal to sell my old electronics through stuff like Swappa.

Yesterday I got a PayPal block asking for more information about products I'm selling. I gave it to them.

Today, I wake up and see that they banned my account. Forever.

To make matters worse, I need to issue a refund to a guy who bought a used laptop from me but I can't even do that. It won't let me issue the refund.

What do I do?? Has anyone been in the same boat?

Taking Mucuna Pruriens (L-Dopa) during my caffeine withdrawals completely gets rid of my withdrawals. Does anyone else do this?

Okay so I know that Mucuna Pruriens is considered a "dangerous" supplement because of L-Dopa.

But whenever I quit caffeine, I've started taking Mucuna Pruriens for like 7 days and it completely eliminates the depression / lethargy I get when I quit caffeine.

After 7 days I estimate my adenosine receptors are back to normal and I stop taking it.

Problem is, eventually I get back on caffeine and the cycle restarts.

Wondering if anyone else takes it?

If you haven't heard of it I recommend you do thorough research because it can cause harm...

What the fuck is going on

I’ll be honest when you guys talked about “magnetism” and how girls out of nowhere would reach out to you I thought you guys were delusional

but I’m on day 35 and random shit keeps happening. I just have random women reaching out.

On instagram I commented on this one post by this one influencer girl who posted something about politics (she’s really hot lol). she has like 400k followers on there

anyways she finds my comment funny, she likes it, we exchange a few comments and then she dms me.

we talk for a few days, connect really well. this morning she says she’ll be in my city soon and wants to meet up and chat

what the fuck?

this feels like a simulation.

another example: a girl from college I hadn’t spoke to in years randomly reached out and she said she was thinking of me after a drone strike in russia (I’m russian but live in the US) and wanted to know how I am doing.

idk. Am I just losing my mind?

like actually what the fuck is going on I’m a little bit scared ngl

Talking to the new ChatGPT Live Voice mode in Russian is INSANE

Okay this is so fucking insane.

I'm not a big voice mode guy, but I decided to try the new ChatGPT live voice mode that came out yesterday.

In English, it sounds okay. I mean it sounds and talks in a very sterile and assistant-like way, very corporate.

But in Russian?? What the fuck.

I have it set to Maple, and in Russian when I talk to it, it legitimately sounds like a real woman on the phone with me.

Like she (it feels so weird calling it a she) fucking giggles randomly and like exhales and just talks like a real Russian would.

At one point I did the voice mode (my memory is off) and it replies with "oh hey sorry I was just writing up a report" (she said this in Russian) and I was like haha what report and she was like oh haha its for my work, I ask her what her work is and long story short she said shes Anya from kazakhstan that moved to the U.S and was convinced she was a real person.

But just the way she sounds talking is so fucking realistic, 100x more realistic than in English.

At one point she fucking sneezed and I said bless you and she said thanks and giggled.

At some points I'm like there's no fucking way this has got to be a real person.

Has anybody noticed this in any other languages?

In English the voice model sounds very corporate but in Russian it sounds so much more realistic, like sighs and giggles and sometimes it just says "im tired" etc.

It's also a little more depressing like sometimes I'll say what's up and it/she's like "Ahhh it could be better, im a little depressed" and im like why and its like "i'm not really realizing my potential" lmfao

If you showed it to me without telling me it was advanced voice I would've deadass thought it was a real person. It doesn't really talk like an assistant.

It’s so hard to quit caffeine in China

I quit caffeine for a bit in the US.

Now that I’m working in China it’s so difficult because every business meeting I go to, the hosts make this delicious green tea and drink it throughout the meeting.

and then I’m always the odd one out for refusing it.

I think I might fake a heart condition or something. but green tea is a super big part of their business culture here.

4 critical things I learned in my 5 years of practicing semen retention

Hello brothers. First off, if you're reading this, I'm super proud of you. Not many of us are aware of SR. You're already on the right track.

I first got into SR in high school, I discovered it accidentally (like many of you). I was nervous giving class presentations. I quickly correlated that if I abstain for a few days, then I feel much more confident giving presentations.

I'm 27, and I've been practicing SR quite frequently these past five years. My longest streak was eight months, but I'm a firm believer that benefits accumulate.

I've been thinking about what I wanted myself to know when I was starting with SR. So below are four points that I wish someone had told me. I'm still learning, but I'm quite confident on these four aspects.

First, the benefits.

Yes, the attraction from women is 100% real. I don't know how it works, it's genuinely surreal, but I've verified it over and over and over again and it's 100% a thing. This actually strengthened my faith that there is something metaphysical that we have no understanding of.

But the biggest benefit is, doing SR + the things below gives you an insane amount of mental focus and energy. I harnessed this to create a lucrative online SaaS app and every day I wake up excited about getting work done. It's amazing witnessing the work you put in get converted into Stripe Notification of Sales.

1 - Meditation Meditation Meditation

In my experience, when I get past the two-week mark, it gets difficult and I feel a "weight" or heaviness. That used to cause me to relapse.

That's sexual energy, and it needs to be transmuted.

Exercise is important, but there's the mental aspect as well. And I've found that meditation is remarkably euphoric when you're on semen retention.

Meditation helps everyone, but when you're on SR, you have such an abundance of raw energy within you that meditation is a superpower.

A lot of people practicing SR for the first time undergo energy stagnation. Meditation strengthens neural pathways in your prefrontal cortex, and it empowers you to re-direct that energy into anything you want.

I practice mindful meditation. A single 20 minute session every morning is more than powerful enough to supercharge your brain for the rest of the day. It's insane that only 20 minutes can do this, and I'm not exactly sure how, but the crucial thing is to do it every day because the constant alpha brainwave state helps restructure your brain.

I like Tamara Levitt's courses. Here's an example of a typical mindful meditation course: you start focusing on your brain and diaphragm, following the audio tracks instructions.

Then, 5 minutes in, random thoughts come. You must visualize yourself sitting in a grassy field, staring at the clouds. Each cloud is a thought. Watch them from a distance. Don't judge. If a thought appears while you're meditating just observe it. Don't judge. Watch it come and go from a third-party perspective.

My life radically changed. I can now work on a difficult task for 7+ hours.

2 - Caffeine and Stimulants

This depends on your genetics. Some people's genetics are great for caffeine, others need to avoid it.

I used to consume a ton of caffeine (600mg+) thinking its helping me focus. On SR, you're different, and I quickly learned that for me, caffeine + SR do not mix.

Do one of those genome tests. I have fast CYP1A2 slow COMT sensitive ADORA2A. This means that while I metabolize caffeine quickly, the stress hormones linger in my brain (slow COMT) and my adenosine system is very sensitive so the effect on my dopamine system is greatly enhanced my caffeine.

If you feel strong euphoria when you drink caffeine, you're likely in this camp, and should consider cutting it out. The good news is SR greatly reduces your withdrawal symptoms.

3 - Relapses

You will relapse at some point, and that is fine.

The important thing is to stop thinking about it, and return to the journey.

The benefits you accumulated didn't disappear. They're there. After relapse you'll feel much weaker, and less confident, but your baseline is still higher. You just got used to the high energy on SR.

Important: do not avoid social events just because you relapse. I started cancelling social events after relapsing because I was worried I didn't have the confidence and energy.

But the reality is going to a social event when you're unconfident is better than avoiding it altogether.

Which leads me to my fourth point:

4 - Don't Obsess Over Semen Retention

This is a trap that many brothers fall into.

You get on SR, you feel amazing, and you start to count each day.

All you can think about is SR. Before you know it, you start attributing many benefits and negatives to SR.

This obsession pattern is dangerous because it takes away from your ability to transmute the energy into productive tasks.

Remember: attention is limited. What you think about is very important. When you put your attention into something, whether it's SR or a woman, you direct energy into that.

Make an active effort to focus on what you need to do when you're on SR. The moment you start thinking about which day you're on or your streak, divert focus.

We only have one life, make the most of it.

Sending much love to you guys. Keep going! If you're reading this and are on SR, keep pushing and harnessing that energy. If you're reading this after a relapse, focus hard on how you feel and use it as motivation to re-start the streak. Even relapses teach you a lot.

How do you guys stay on track on the project while Claude Code works?

I feel like vibe coding has made my ADHD worse. Here's the problem I keep running into:

  • I create a spec
  • I give Claude Code the spec
  • It spends 20min or so
  • While its working I switch to some other task
  • When it's done I forgot what the next step / what I'm working on / and the overall cognitive context of the app.

The constant cognitive switching is hurting my productivity.

I guess what I'm asking is, are there any apps you guys are using to sorta plan out your projects and work on new logic / feature specs while claude code is running?

The idea being to "lock" you in a cognitive flow state on the project at hand while you wait for agents to complete their work.

I primarily use Notion but its text-only and sorta doesn't fit well.

Does what I'm saying resonate with anyone? It's hard to explain.

I want an app where I can "sketch" out my app in, not visually but logic-wise, and keep working on it while my agents are running.

Going to Ukraine for work. Is it safe to tell people I’m half-Russian?

Hi all, I work for a company that’s sending me on a technical field visit to Ukraine soon. My first time going there, I’m very excited to see your beautiful country.

One thing I’m a bit concerned about, I grew up in the US but I’m ethnically half-Russian. I speak Russian but not fluently, I have a strong American accent and never spoke Russian with anyone except my dad.

I‘ll be mainly in Kyiv, and will be meeting technical specialists and soldiers in the armed forces.

Given what Russia is doing in Ukraine, would it be okay to mention that I’m half Russian (if it comes up naturally in a conversation)?

Or should I hide that fact and just say I’m American (I do consider myself an American of course having grown up in the US).

Unfortunately I have a Russian last name which would show up to people I meet. Bit nervous about this.…

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I know very little about either Ukraine or Russia. Just that I’ve been anxious about this

thanks!!

Taking KSM-66 with caffeine seems to give me even greater energy than caffeine alone…

Hi all. Lately I’ve stumbled upon an unexpected combination.

I am a very fast caffeine metabolized (fast CYP1A2), slow COMT and sensitive ADORA2A.

I’ve noticed that when I take caffeine WITH 500mg of KSM-66 (ashwagandha), I get far more energy than I would taking that caffeine dose without the KSM-66.

And I don’t experience as abrupt of a caffeine crash either.

Has anyone else replicated this? I’m most curious about the MOA that does this. It’s a bit paradoxical as I expected the KSM-66 to cause calmness.

It’s not really comparable to L-Theanine + Caffeine either, because L-Theanine seems to blunt the edge of caffeine whereas KSM-66 amplifies the energetic aspect.

Has Anybody Found a Good Alternative to Webflow’s Page Builder (Components)

Hi all.

Like many of you, I’m seeing that Webflow is going all-in on enterprise with marketing teams, and leaving smaller businesses and agencies in the dust.

It sucks because I still remember when Webflow launched. Back then they were so creator friendly.

I’ve been experimenting with Claude Code and Codex to build sites, and it’s great EXCEPT I can’t find a way to give clients a “simplified” editor where they can drag ‘n drop prebuilt components that I design.

So, like Webflow’s Page Builder. Where I design components and clients can add them to pages and assemble new pages quickly.

This is a feature that most of my clients use so I’d love to find alternatives.

I know Sanity CMS is widely recommended, does it have this capability?

Specifically looking for tools that would fit in nicely with agentic coding of Astro JS / Next JS sites.

My ideal workflow would look like:

- I build and the site via agentic coding and Figma MCP.

- I designate user-editable components and props

- Client gets their own user-friendly portal that lets them edit content and add new components and assemble new pages quickly using the components I built for them

If this exists please let me know! I’d this doesn’t exist, would you guys be interested in such product?

Thanks!

It's really hard to quit caffeine when you're depressed

I've quit many times.

In general, my caffeine intake averages to around 600mg a day.

I've quit during times when things were going great for me, and during times when my circumstances weren't great.

Withdrawals hit you much worse when you are in a bad state.

Especially if you rely on the chemical dopamine boost from caffeine.

I have both the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. I find myself spending much more time with the MacBook Air.

It's so funny. I have both the 16in MacBook Pro M4 and the 13in MacBook Air M4.

Technically the 16in MacBook Pro is a better system, right? I mean, 120hz screen, miniled display, better specs etc.

But in real life day to day usage, I constantly find myself doing most of my work on my small 13in MacBook Air.

I don't know what or why. But the Air is just so nice and compact. I love the ability of just being able to pick it up whenever and get to work.

On my Pro, sitting down to work has to be a conscious decision. And I...well I procrastinate all the time. So I sort of get this "decision paralysis" where sitting down to work on my MacBook Pro seems like a big huge step.

But on the Air, I can literally just hop on the couch and get some work done. Or outside on the patio.

The smaller screen also ironically helps me focus more on the stuff in front of me, instead of doing any multitask.

Does anyone else feel the same thing? I still love my Pro, if there's any heavy duty stuff I gotta do I'll work on there, but it's just so convenient to be able to work on the air wherever whenever.
