Most music marketing tactics talked about here are inferior/cope in my opinion

I don’t mean for this post to come off as rude or anything but while Meta Ads, playlisting etc. have their place in music marketing to some degree, the backbone of your marketing should really be organic content in like 90% of cases.

Meta Ads and playlisting are not gonna grow you a fanbase like organic content, TikTok fan accounts, social media campaigns etc. are. Look at the underground rap scene for example. I find it so interesting how nobody here pays attention to a genre where people blow up off a couple TikTok posts and can then drop music and have thousands of people tuning in for every song without having to do any promo, because they are cult-like fans of the artists in question.

Idk like I see Bleood selling out 1,000+ person venues with 300k monthly listeners and I’m like… could someone who grew to 300k off meta ads and playlisting come close to that? No.

Always open to having my view changed

Btw Young Thug and all of øway are doing their tour at the same size venues as Nine’s solo tour

Nine did ~5k capacity venues in major cities like LA, Thug and Øway are doing the same capacity. Nine has some crazy pull that the ppl he’s beefing with simply don’t

Do not waste your time waiting outside the venue after the show

In LA we waited like 1.5hrs and him and Lucy came out and didn’t interact with anyone just immediately left, so dont stick around after the show most likely you aren’t getting anything signed or a picture with him. It wasn’t even a big crowd that waited for him to leave, legit was 10 people

Birdbrain question

Is there any reason Birdbrain is clean? Even the tag is censored. Sometimes songs are made clean like this for use in movies and stuff like that so makes me think. Cuz seems like a weird deliberate choice to even censor the slayr omg tag.

Narrative promo isn’t to be ignored

15 second vid on an alt account that took me 5 mins to make and mentions my artist name got 150k views, which caused ppl to search my name up and got my recent tiktoks on my main account to 5-10k+ each

don’t underestimate the power of narrative promo, your artist identity can be even more potent than your music

Singles vs. songs in albums for meta ads

Hi! I’m going to drop an album soon, and im gonna run some ads for some of the songs. I was wondering if anyone has noticed a different in conversions between sending listeners to a single release vs. a song on an album? My thinking is that a single release makes it easier for the listener to immediately find/add the song being advertised, BUT sending them to the album release with the song on it might also increase the amount of plays to other songs as well. Any thoughts?

Every ride is getting upgraded

I think I’ve taken more UberX rides that have gotten a “free Uber One upgrade” than non-upgraded rides recently. Like, every ride is getting upgraded to Comfort or Black (had an upgrade to Black SUV just today). Not complaining at all! Pretty awesome! Was just wondering if this is a common occurrence at all without the subscription as well?
