Old Road Runners Club Newsletters
Howdy - I'm trying to fill in gaps in a reasonably good collection of RRC (Road Runners Club) newsletters/magazines that I've assembled over the years. I live in Ireland and for a time was one of only a small number of RRC members in the republic in the early 2000's. I ran the London Brighton race the last year the club organized it and a number of other ultras and marathons in the UK. I'd love to fill in some of the gaps in the run, or get closer to a full run than I have now and I guess I'll have to try to dig them out of auctions and the like.
Up to the early 2000's there were about 185 copies printed over the years, starting back in the 1950s I think. The run I have is mostly complete from the mid 60's onwards and is a treasure trove of pictures, results and brilliant stories. I think I have ~120 copies.
Does anyone know if they exist online anywhere or have they been archived by a library or similar? They're a brilliant resource for athletics writers or anyone interested in the detailed history of the sport.
I also have a small number of duplicates that I could swap for others if anyone else has an interest.
Would love to hear from anyone who has an interest in these.
The Train Station, Kiltimagh
I picked this postcard up at the Antiques Fair in Limerick although I don't collect. Posting in case others interested in old railway stuff.
Any Info On this Badge..?
This badge has followed me through numerous house moves over many years and I've no idea where it came from or who it belonged to. I'm guessing it might have been my grandfather's in Dublin but that's just a guess.
Would be interested in any info about it. When were they sold and to whom (general public or railway staff)? We're there others in the series. Do people collect them or similar stuff.
Any info appreciated...
