Catch can mounting bracket v2

I took the advice of many of you and redesigned my mount to be much thicker, and also able to be printed in the correct orientation for strength. I attached the primary mount to the catch can side with a dovetail (and screws) this time instead of trying to leave them connected so that they could print on their sides. The heat set inserts in the middle section are now on the bottoms side so they would have to be pulled completely through to fail. I also made everything thicker and also added ribs to the edges of the main mount. The other one has been doing fine, but I’ve definitely been checking on it every time I take the car out lol. It feels way more sturdy than it did before and I shouldn’t have to worry about it going forward. Thanks to everyone who gave constructive criticism on my last post!

My first 3d printed car part! Catch can mount and -10an breather fitting

My catch can was mounted super janky, and I just got a 3d printer and thought this would be a good way to start learning CAD. The print failed a few times when I was trying to print it in a different orientation for better layer strength, but I think it’ll work for now. I can always change it later if I need to. Also had to make a breather fitting because the 90° I had was too tall and contacted the hood. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to start figuring out other useful ways to use this thing! Printed in ASA

Met another silver FD owner at the grocery store and completely short circuited

Not sure if this is cringe or not, but figured the RX7 world is small enough that maybe the universe does something funny.

I met a woman at the grocery store on Mother’s Day while loading up my car. She saw my FD and waited for me to come out because she also has a silver FD and was excited. We ended up talking for probably 15-20 minutes about car stuff, and she showed me pictures of her cars. At the end she asked for my socials, but I don’t have any, and my brain completely short circuited and I forgot phone numbers exist.

So if by some miracle you see this: hi. I was the guy at the grocery store who realized what happened on the drive home.

I’m an idiot, probably

I was at the grocery store yesterday to get stuff for Mother’s Day dinner and I scored a parking spot right by the front door.

When I was done, I was just about to pull out of my spot when I noticed a woman in front of me excitedly trying to flag me down. So I rolled down my window and she came up and was super excited to see my car and said SHE HAD THE SAME CAR! In the same color! She said she saw it coming out of the store and waited for me. For context my car is pretty uncommon, and not something you see very often out and about. So I got out and we chatted about car stuff like probably 15-20 minutes. She showed me some pictures of her cars. She seemed really cool and also knowledgeable, not just surface level interested. At the end, she asked if she could get my socials, but I don’t have any so I told her as much. She seemed a little bummed but was understanding and so we shook hands and parted ways. As soon as I left I felt like such a moron for not at least offering my number in place of the socials. But it’s also very possible she was only interested in the car too. I’m a bit autistic and have a hard time with things like this lol.

How often does a cute girl with the exact same niche interests randomly just show up like that? And I did nothing.

Anyways, here’s my sandwich. Cheesecake Factory bread, mayo, sun dried tomato pesto, colby jack, bell pepper, cherry tomato, pickled onions, grillos pickles, sprouts
