Hello there! :^ )

I’m 24F living in the Netherlands, and I have been a little stuck in learning Dutch; I would love a conversation partner to listen to me fumble through a sentence and point out my mistakes every now and then :^ D

I’m not necessarily after full-on lessons, more like chats in Dutch to force myself to actually use the language more. Would love to learn more vocabulary, too.

In return, I’m glad to do the same for you, but in Russian! I’m a native speaker; while I can’t exactly teach you, I can direct you in-conversation or share vocabulary, if that’s something you’re after :^ )

Advice wanted! Cactus seems sick

Hello there!

My friends are moving and giving away their plants; a couple weeks back, they gave me one of their cacti. It had these round spots already, but they seem to have spread further since the cactus moved to my place. The base has also gotten darker, and there’s something like a crack visible at the base (see last photo). What’s going on here/ can I save it? Not long before that, I had another cactus rot and die on me, I don’t like how this streak is starting to form :^ D

I’m not sure what kind of soil is in the pot. It’s been 4 weeks since I got it; I watered it, very lightly, only twice. It originally came in a small ceramic pots with no holes, and a few days ago I took it out of the pot to see if that makes a difference.

Advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
