PCOS: Bleeding came back 6 days after Tranexamic Acid

Has anyone experienced this?

I took Tranexamic Acid, and my period stopped. However, 6 days later, I started bleeding again. I consulted my OB, and she told me to continue taking the Tranexamic Acid. But instead of improving, the bleeding seems to be getting heavier.

Because of this, I still can’t schedule my transrectal ultrasound since I’m bleeding.

9th day period 😭

After stopping Althea for a year, I did not have my period for three months. Since taking my supplements (Hormobalance and iron tablets for PCOS) from March to May, I have been getting my period monthly, usually lasting a maximum of six days. However, this June, my period has already lasted for nine days and is still flowing at a moderate rate. I am concerned about the prolonged bleeding and would appreciate your advice on what I should do. 🙁

San Beda enrollment query

Hi! Anyone here enrolling at San Beda Med?

I’m still missing my Honorable Dismissal, TOR, and medical exam. The waiver says pending requirements are due by June 30, but my school said my HD and TOR may only be released in July.

Anyone in the same situation or allowed to submit these documents later? Thanks!

China eSIM

Hi! My first travel abroad.

Going to China 5days! I’ve read that trip.com has the best eSIM? Is this plan: 5 days and 10GB enough?

Also how does it work/activate on an iPhone?

Does this support FB, Messenger, Instagram, Maps + essential apps?

Thank you 😊

Inactive Nurse: 2nd renewal?

Hi! I am currently not working as a nurse, but I would like to renew my PRC license for my second renewal.

May I ask if I can still earn and complete CPD units even if I am not currently practicing nursing?

Thank you!

DIM: BAGSMART Crossbody Bag

Hi! I’m looking for a medium-sized sling/crossbody bag for a 5-day trip to China. This BAGSMART bag looks really cute and practical, but I’m wondering if it’s sturdy enough for travel and worth the price.

If you’ve used it, how has it held up in terms of durability, comfort, and storage? Would you recommend it for sightseeing and daily use while traveling?

Also, if you have other crossbody or sling bag recommendations, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!

SBU requirements

To those who were accepted to SBU, have you already submitted your requirements?

I’d just like to ask if it’s okay to submit the Honorable Dismissal and TOR at a later date, since my current school said those documents will only be released once I’m officially enrolled.

Thank you!

DIM: Zaxy PH

Hi! I’ve been using my Skechers Slip-Ins Ultra Flex and Gibi sandals for mall use. I’ve been eyeing Zaxy, and I only have a ₱1k budget for a replacement walking pair. Has anyone tried this brand, and is it suitable for around 5k–7k steps a day? Looks comfy but not sure. DIM!

Has anyone ordered from BANANA Korea Store? Is it legit?

Hi! Just wanted to ask if anyone here has tried ordering from BANANA Korea Store. It says the items are shipped from overseas/Korea, and I’m planning to buy supplements from them, specifically FOODOLOGY Coleology Cut PRO 600mg x 60 Tablets.

Are their products authentic and safe? How was your experience with:
shipping time
packaging
product authenticity

Would really appreciate any feedback before I place an order. Thanks! 🙏

First renewal: how to get my CPD units?

Hi! Just renewed my PRC license for the first time and it will expire on 2029. Can I ask what’s the next step after my renewal? I am currently not working as a nurse which is why I’m not sure what to do next. Where do I get these CPD units and the account for it? Thank you!

Endo or OB? 🥺

Hi! Just a short background about my condition. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 years old, and I’m currently 26. Last 2025, I had an ultrasound and the impression stated that my ovaries were already normal. During that time, I was prescribed Althea pills for one year (November 2024 to 2025).

However, one thing I noticed was significant weight gain. According to my BMI, I’m already considered obese. During my annual physical checkup, my lab results showed elevated cholesterol and uric acid levels, so last April I was prescribed Atorvastatin and Febuxostat. My HbA1c was within normal limits, but my fasting glucose was 106.85, which was still below the diabetes range, so no medication was prescribed for it.

Currently, for my PCOS, I’m taking New Moon Inositol after stopping Althea, and thankfully it has helped regulate my monthly periods. The only concern is that my weight has not been dropping at all. I also had my thyroid hormones checked, and the results were normal.

Questions:

  1. Should I consult an OB-GYN or an Endocrinologist regarding my weight gain? I’m worried that my OB might prescribe pills again even though I’m already happy with how inositol is helping me.
  2. I also find it very hard to stop eating sweets and seem to crave them every day. Before, I didn’t have these cravings and my weight was only around 60 kg, but now I’m currently at 80 kg.

Would love to hear your recommendations on what to do next since I’ve been bullied constantly by my family & relatives every time I visit them. My aunts have been telling me to go ozempic & it’s very pricey. Please be kind thank you 🥺

Endocrinologist for weight gain?

Hi! I’m 26 years old and have had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome since I was around 16. I was always in the normal to almost overweight category, but last year I took Althea for 1 year and noticed I gained a lot of weight — up to 80 kg, and I’m only 5’2”.

My lab results also showed high uric acid, high cholesterol, and high fasting glucose, although I wasn’t prescribed medication for my blood sugar yet.

I want to consult an endocrinologist, but honestly I’m scared they might immediately prescribe very expensive medications that I can’t afford yet. I’ve been reading about Ozempic and similar medications, and they seem to cost thousands. Is that usually the first approach doctors recommend?

I’ve tried reducing carbohydrates, although I still struggle with sweets because I crave them often. I currently take inositol for my period since it’s what helps me get monthly menstruation.

If anyone can recommend a doctor who takes a more practical or holistic approach, or share your experience managing PCOS, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
